Wheeeee!

sip071703 Wheeeee!

I think when I finish these, I’ll call these socks the Transit Delay Socks.

I knitted the first sock, starting Monday a.m. and completing it Wednesday p.m., entirely on the subway. And waiting for the subway.

That’ll give you some idea of the delays this week.

So I’m into the second sock now.

July Contest

Don’t fergit! Don’t fergit! Deadline to enter the July contest (see the July 14 entry) is 5 p.m. Eastern Time today. I’ll draw a name shortly thereafter and pick a winner, to be announced next Monday.

And I’ll probably have the list of fiber festivals up on my site Monday as well.

Weekend . . .

Not much knitting will be accomplished this weekend. We’re taking a quick trip down to my brother’s beach house to hang out with those guys for fun and frolic. I’m not even taking Frogner with me, as alcohol and Frogner do not mix. I’ll probably take the second Transit Delay Sock with me, though.

We’ll only be gone a day, so don’t worry about Lucy being left alone!

Lucy Sez . . .

Have a good weekend, all.

Dang, I love Lucy’s face. My Digit’s got a HUGE crush on her. Getting annoying. He goes on and ooonnn and ooonnnnnn about her eyes….. Yeah, you THINK she’s gonna be alone for a day while you’re at the beach. Better lock up the fine wine and salmon treats…..

  2. Wendy

Yikes! Lucy is planning a little soiree in our absence, is she? Thanks for the heads-up, Rachael!

  3. claudia

    That’s a crime, you know. KWI…Knitting While Intoxicated….;-)

  4. L-B

I think that look on Lucy’s face is “I’m going to hog-tie Wendy with her own yarn so she can’t go!” Have fun (if you make it out the door!)

  5. Roi

Psssst Lucy, as soon as she goes out the door, how about putting up all mommie’s stash on eBay – just think how much more attention you’d get with all that nasty sheep hair out of the house:)

  6. Teresa

A day at the beach sounds WONDERFUL!!
Have a great time! Did a toe in the sand fer me, would ya?

PS…I sent you an email yesterday – did it make it into your inbox?

  7. Teresa

    That was suppose to be

DIG a toe into the sand for me.

  8. Wendy

Teresa, I answered your email yesterday — just resent it to your Yahoo addy. :-)

  9. Andrea

Enjoy the beach, Wendy! I hope Lucy doesn’t get into too much trouble while you’re gone. ;-) I would offer to supervise her, but we’re leaving tomorrow for the beach, too! (Uh oh, if you get home and find 2 red tabby toms in your place, could you send them home? I think Gale is too anti-social to party with Lucy, but Retto and Taz will be there with bells on!) Here’s to good weather for all!

Lucy’s going to take over the computer while Wendy’s at the beach and give us the low-down on how she gets her knitting done so quickly…LOL!

Wendy, have a great weekend & enjoy the beach!

  11. Wendy

    Y’all . . . stop giving Lucy ideas!

  12. Shelda

I really love what those Regia stripes did at the toes! I know you knit much faster than the “average bear,” but still, that must have been some delay!

    Enjoy the beach!

  13. Steph

Love the sock. I knit a pair for my son and they’re still my favourite (even though they only fit him for 2 months!). Might have to make a bigger pair for him. We’re getting cross-inspirational here! Have a great weekend.

  14. L-B

Wendy, are you going to leave Lucy with Home Alone on the vcr? ;-)

  15. Kathy

Hope you have beautiful sunny weather at the beach!

  16. Janine

Oh, No! I missed the deadline!!!

Just thought I’d let you know that I left my computer for two seconds and came back to find my two year old had surfed over to your page and was looking at the mouse-along pages. I daresay you’re her favorite blogger because of the “kitty cats”!
