My current work in progress:

1. Mighty Mini, designed by Rachel Henry, knit from Socks That Rock Worthy in the "Tanzanite" and "The Green That Sings" colorways on a 3.0 mm needle.
2. Myriad stealth projects.

Yow!

Another crazed day at the office yesterday, but I made durn sure to leave on time. I had to stop at the grocery store on the way home to replenish Lucy’s supply of Fancy Feast, because if we were to run out, well, that simply would not do.

Hey! Today is Hallowe’en. I just thought of that. Duh . . .

Every year on Hallowe’en the children in our daycare center at work wear their costumes and have a parade. Today it’s at 10:30 this morning, being held in the Great Hall. In years past they used to parade through the halls of the building and everyone came out of their offices to watch. We could give them candy then, but that was a more innocent time.

I must try to get down there for the parade. Some of those kids are so cute in their widdle costumes . . .

Hmmm, I wonder if Lucy would like to dress up as a fairy princess for Hallowe’en tonight? I’m thinking probably not.

lucy103003 Yow!

But I could dress up like a fairy princess if I wanted because . . .

I finished it!

pis1030 Yow!

Happy Hallowe’en, all.

  1. Really beautiful and it looks great as a pullover. I’m looking forward to seeing it modeled.

  2. Love it! Look forward to seeing it on you.

  3. Wonderful job! I really liked that sweater in the book and am glad to see that the colors are just as pretty when knit up as they appear in the pictures. This one’s definitely on my wish list!

  4. Hello Wendy,
    wonderful.
It looks great as a pullover.

  5. Very pretty.
    Beautiful knitting,as ever.

  6. What she said, what she said, what she said, and what she said! Oh Wendy, PiS is a thing of beauty, a work of art. Thank you for sharing your talent and accomplishments with us.

Your blog has become my first stop in the morning; I miss you on the weekends!

    Nice weekend, all,
    Sandra

  7. Oh it’s beautiful! I like it so much more as a pullover. Is that a picot edging on the sleeves and bottom, or more I-cord? How beautiful!

    Happy Friday!

  8. Wow, Wow, Wowie, wow, or something like that… I want one too!!!

  9. Really, really nice, Wendy! But then you knew that already ;) I’ve been thinking about PiS, but I want the cardigan. Tell Lucy that I don’t think she really needs to dress up to look just like a princess!

  10. Yowsa! Wowie, wow, wow and all those wonderful exclamations. That is a stunning sweater! I like it much better as a pullover than a cardi. Can’t wait to see the official photo shoot :-)

    Happy Hallowe’en!

  11. Lovely!!! Fairy princess material indeed! good job!

  12. Your sweater is boo-tiful. Have a happy Halloween.

  13. Gorgeous! And definitely worthy of a tiara! :-)

  14. Gorgeous!!! and Happy Halloween! :O)

  15. Wendy – those colors are awesome! I’m waaay too thumb-fingered to do Fair Isle, but you make it look so easy – because you do it so quickly. What a gorgeous sweater :) Could you make a little version for la belle Lucy – sort of a mother-daughter kind of thing? Well, maybe that’s going too far :)

  16. Happy Halloween! And congrats on PiS — it’s beautiful, like all your sweaters.

I hope you enjoy the Halloween parade — our daycare does that too, but work is crazy and I think I’ll miss my little Batman. :-( Have a great weekend!

  17. Sue in Florida says:

PiS is defintely Fairy Princes finery…It is Woo Hoo gorgeous….. and isn’t Lucy already a little Princess? Have fun watching the little one’s in their parade.

  18. Congratulations and Bravo! Your sweater is so beautiful!

  19. What’s great about kiddies and costumes is that they really KNOW they are cute in their costumes! Everyone of them usually has a big smile on their proud faces (my former workplace used to have a Halloween parade too…).

PiS how I love thee… Can’t wait to see it modeled! You are definitely the princess tonight!

    Have a great weekend!

  20. Beautiful sweater, Wendy!!! The colors are really nice, can’t wait to see it on you.

  25. Jenny (in Davis) says:

  28. Joan in Reno says:

Beautiful! And now we get to watch Amphora emerge.

  29. Wendy – PiS is gorgeous! Can’t wait to see it modeled. I so appreciate your sharing your projects with us. I feel like I can vicariously participate in your finished projects, even if I don’t have any of my own. On the days I get NO knitting done, I can log on and rejoice that at least someone has! You also inspire me to keep on, knowing that my own project will be finished some day too. Thanks again.

  30. can’t wait to see you start amphora! have a bootiful weekend }:>)

  31. Beautiful PiS pullover. That particular one, as a cardigan, is on my must-make-it-someday list. I looking forward to watching your progress with Amphora. I have this kit, but it’ll be a little while before I get at it (I have 5 sweaters on the go now, in various stages of completion). Sorry I didn’t get mice to you… only had time to complete one… unless you can use just one more!

  32. Gorgeous! Excellent work once again :-))

  33. OH Wendy,
Go ahead, get the boots out, the sweater on and be a modern day princess. Too much fun not to be shared-please?

  34. Catherine Smegal says:

I really like the i-cord trim. The velvet trim was terribly difficult to apply, and now that I’ve seen your sweater, not worth the effort.

    Brava!

  35. Wow – it’s gorgeous!! Happy halloween!

  36. Congrats on finishing the newest sweater, it is beautiful! I would sure feel like a princess wearing it! LOL!

    Have a great weekend.

  37. Karen in Denmark says:

Very beautiful! And congratulations. I really like the I-cord and learned a lot reading how you did it. Looking forward to hearing about your next project.

  38. Woo Hoo! I have loved watching the progress on PiS – it looks beautiful! I was always afraid of doing Icord within a garment, but now maybe I will try it. :)

  39. It looks AWESOME! I can’t believe how cool it looks — I have to say I wasn’t sold on some of the colors you used BUT your brilliance obviously knew the end product would be great. Go grrl! :^)
