Monday! Monday! Monday!

Yes, it’s another Monday, and we have a winner in the November contest. Sarah, whose last name and location I don’t know — Sarah, I emailed you Friday night — I’ll send out your prize as soon as I hear from you.

The new FAQ page created by the contest is here. I’ll put a link to it from my sidebar soon. Thanks everyone who submitted an entry to help populate this page!

Amphora

I steeked the front neck and am busily knitting away. Not long before I finish the body.

Mousies . . .

A good but much too short weekend. We dropped off the last of the mousies to Barbara at Capital Animal Care. Barbara told me that selling mousies is the most successful fundraiser they’ve ever had. So y’all can pat yourself on the back once again!

And speaking of patting yourselves on the back . . .

Have you seen the total for the Knitting Basket? Wow! You guys are awesome! Teresa, Deb, and I are so excited and thrilled at the response to our charity appeal. Thank you so much! We’ve got five knitting baskets so far and are working on a sixth!

Lookie here!

It’s Spongebob gelt!

And here is Lucy, helping with the laundry by keeping things in the closet nicely pressed.

She’s such a good girl!

Y’all have a great Monday. I’ll close with a photo of a huge bargain in a local supermarket. Man! Do they slash prices or do they slash prices?

  1. You know, just glancing at that sign, I would have thought that I was saving money! Probably would have bought the stuff, too. :-) My cat loves those closet jeans piles! With winter coming, she is getting creative with her hiding spots.

  2. Karen in DK says:

    Great FAQ!

Lucy looks very regal on her throne of bluejeans.

  3. Hi Wendy,
I want to thank you, Teresa, and Deb for making the Knitting Basket SO EASY to do! A couple of clicks and I was done! So, for anyone who thinks this is going to take some time or that it will be complicated, I have good news for you — it is so fast and easy!

Hey, with those great Safeway ice cream bargains, you’ll be able to save up for your next yarn purchase, oh never mind.

Here’s what is probably a math question. I have tried to figure it out so many times, but am stuck. I have 4 balls of Noro Kureyon, and want to make the Booga Bag a little bigger than the original pattern, while keeping the same proportions. Since I have 1/3 more yarn, do I increase everything (# sts cast on, # rows for bag bottom, # of sts around and # of rows in body of bag) by 1/3? I don’t think this will work out, but what is the math formula? Anybody able to help me with this?

Thanks, and Wendy, Amphora is looking lovely. And of course Lucy is, too. My Maxwell prefers to lie on folded up polar fleece blankets in this colder weather.
But he definitely likes the “elevated” status that Lucy has.

    Good knitting, all.

  4. oh my lord, I have seen it all! What a deal on the ice cream! Too funny!

  5. Better hurry, Wendy, that deal expires tomorrow!! :)

  6. Amphora looks great, Wendy! You are so fast.

You also demonstrated why I shop at Giant. ;-)

    Have a nice day!

  7. I noticed that your blog roll has been defaced by someone who replaced all your fine links with a “Laura’s Blog” link. This happened to my blog as well. Don’t know what’s up with the blogrolling, but grrrrr.

  8. Damnit – I was going to use your links since mine are screwed but yours are wonky too. stupid hackers.
    xo
(going to check out the faqs now instead of blogs… I used your lace resources yesterday and was amazed by the wealth of free, good shawl patterns)

  9. Great FAQ! Amphora is really stunning. It looks like your store has sales similar to the one I shop at. Ha ha!

  10. Well isn’t that special? Hackers have now ruined blogrolls.

I just took mine out of my blog — I’ll not give that idiot any free advertising.

  11. I love it that the store even admits it, baldly: Save Zero Per Cent! In big bold letters! That’s hysterical.

  12. links are working properly again now, in case you haven’t checked blogrolling.
    xo

  13. Well at least all the supermarkets haven’t been on strike for over a month…hungry yet LA? Did you buy the chocolate banana brownie ice cream so generously marked down and put some sort of price tag on LUCY’s tail in the ensuing sugar rush? Or have you not yet worn all those jeans so neatly stacked? OH do tell you shopping maven…

  14. The price slash photo is a riot! To think that someone probably actually drove out of their way to save .02…come to think of it, I know people like that! :)

  15. What a great sale…I hope you bought two. ;)
