I hope you all had a nice New Year’s celebration. I rang out the old year and rang in the new knitting on Abalone — I’m into the pattern a bit — see?

So far so good! Not a difficult fair isle, as Starmore fair isles go. But a pretty one, I think. And enjoyable to knit.

I don’t have much to say today, but I wanted to show you the Abalone progress. And I wanted to answer the comment from a couple of days ago looking for the kitty bed pattern. You can find it here.

Great!!! Is it so even as it looks like or are there some stitches different from the others? I’m knitting my first fair-isle (PIS side 124) at the moment and I have some problems to geht the stitches so even. Do you have a hint for me except for “training, training, training”?? You can have a look on my pis on my side.

Miss Abalone is simply stunning. The colors are gorgeous together, and the pattern…well, simple you say? It sure doesn’t look simple. But then, I’ve never attempted to knit a real fair isle.
I hear it’s your birthday. Hope it’s a happy one full of all the things that you love.

Oooh, I do like the colors in Abalone. The checkerboard ribbing looks more entertaining than her regular corrugated, too.
I’ve started in on Queen Anne’s Lace — cause I do love the way the marled yarn stands in for light and shadow — but oh, they aren’t the most stunning colors.
They’re sorta subtle.
