Just Call Me the Alchemist

Can you guess what I bought at Knit Happens Wednesday night? Can you?

If you guessed “more Alchemy yarn” you would be correct. Ding! Ding! Ding!

Remember, if you will, that I purchased the fun bright green Alchemy Resevoir on Saturday.

So I bought the matching Alchemy Synchronicity to make a matching scarf for the hat that it will become.

And for good measure, I bought both Resevoir and Synchronicity in a pretty blue colorway.

And I believe I enabled at least one poor soul into an Alchemy purchase. Phyl-Phyl? Didja buy the red? Huh? Didja?

Speaking of Alchemy, here’s the state of the scarf as of lunchtime yesterday. I’m just starting the second skein, and got about 26 inches worth of scarf from the first skein, so it’ll be nice and long.

Here’s what was going on down the street while I was photographing the scarf. Some sort of emergency . . .

ABFab, You Are Fabulous, Dahling

And the state of the AbFab:

Yum!

I repeat, YUM!

Are You Sick of my Office Toys Yet?

Too bad.

Stre-e-e-etch!

And if you haven’t already, run, don’t walk, over to see what Becky just made. It’s too cute!

Happy Friday!

oh the first commentor… love the ab fab throw… may have to get one of those kits! it looks lovely and i love that coach bag… is it still available?

    from a coach lover too

  2. You’re having so much fun !
I love all your latest stash enhancement & I’m so glad you’ve now got a great new yarn store.

  3. I insist that you come over here right now so that we can go yarn shopping, ’cause I wager you’re hella fun to shop with.

The name “Alchemy” alone sounds addicting. No wonder Spongebob is smiling with your new stash additions.

And thank you for the mention :-)

  4. I just love your sheep, I guess that’s the sheep from Gromit & Wallace. Does he really have a name?? I can’t understand how you get all that knitting done. Do you knit at work as well? I’ll keep spying on you, hope you show us more of your wacky toys too!

  5. ok now, looking at your stash makes me want to go buy some alchemy (and i bought some already!)and your abfab looks wonderful. and you have the cutest little office mates. gotta love ‘em.

  6. I didn’t make it to KH yesterday, so no alchemy for me. Yet.

Don’t you hate looking out the window and seeing something like that? I’m not really an alarmist, but ever since 2001 I jump to the worst conclusion at the slightest thing. (Like when our server went down the other day, no internet. I didn’t know the server was down, so I worried that something BAD had happened and everyone was on the internet to find out. That’s why I keep a radio in my office.) Have a great weekend — Sunday is supposed to be gorgeous!!

  7. Wendy, please! Leave some Alchemy at KH for the rest of us! :)

That AbFab is looking gorgeous. Is it a pain to lug it around to knit? I would just want to curl up under it as it got bigger. Cheers!

  8. I don’t know if Phyl-Phyl bought the red, but you enabled me into buying the blue-green Alchemy. And the BOC pattern.

  9. I’ve really come to love the straight stripes on the Ab Fab. It just seems so nice, modern, clean and un-granny-ish. Nice.

  10. Indeed the red (with lots of orange) colorway had to come home with me. It’s fabulous. I love it. I can’t wait for it to be a hat and scarf combo. I need mittens. Think I could wear all of that with my Kevlar poncho or would that be too much?
BTW Gloria’s front left is finished and looks fabulous!

  11. Yum, indeed! I just got an AbFab kit in the Meadow colorway and it’s all your fault! ;) And now I’ve got Alchemy on my mind as well. Sigh. I should know by now that anytime I see Spongebob hanging around with yarn here I should steel myself for some serious fiber temptation. And now that I know Kristine does mail order…

  12. Knit Happens must love you. You must be their number one client!

  13. I love that green…reminds me of B’Limey over there at Chicknits!

ab fab! I am getting so excited to start my colinette poncho soon…your abfab is inspiring me colinette style!

  14. Because of you, I just bought 2 different colorway’s of Alchemy’s silk purse. Bright orange and bright green. They are so shiny and beautiful. I’m dreaming of a couple new scarves. Then I got the Collinette Vintage poncho kit in Mushroom (that’s all they had there & I loved the colors).
I love the colors of your scarf. Very Fall like!
Thanks for all the inspiration Wendy! :)

  15. You are a temptress…must find some Alchemy. Maybe a really cool purple/blue…did you see any like that. Or a really red, red. I’m going to check with Kristine.

  16. I love your AbFab throw. i just got the rhapsody in blue colorway and can’t wait to start it. You inspired me! Thanks!

    Hi Wendy

At last I have found someone who also adores Shaun. But I envy you, because here in small Denmark nobody except me I guess wants to buy Shaun stuff. Thats why I only have a key chain and 2 different Shaun bags.

Like your scarf, think I will make one too.

    Have a nice day

  18. Spud wants to know if Lucy’s available to date? He’s just taken up scribble knitting with me ;)

  19. Look!

$42 is a bit pricey for me though. Love the expression on Wallace’s face.
