My current work in progress:

1. Drachenfels, designed by Melanie Berg, knit from Madelintosh Pashmina in the Black Walnut, Seasalt, and Mineral colorways on a 4 mm (U.S. size 6) needle.
2. Myriad stealth projects.

Get Me — I’m Spongeworthy!

I must have very spongey karma lately, because I got two very fun gifts on the same day!

First, this!

sponge082604b Get Me Im Spongeworthy!

This delights me beyond reason. You press a button on the base of the statue and Spongebob twirls around (firmly grasping the anchor in which his lollipop is mounted, of course). This little beauty was sent to me by High-Energy Jenny. I guess it makes sense that he’s a high-energy Spongebob, huh?

And then, this!

sponge082604 Get Me Im Spongeworthy!

Ohmigod! Ohmigod! It’s a Spongebob mousepad. Sent to me by Colette in Washington (state, not city). Not only is it a mousepad, but it’s a memopad too — there are 60 tear-off pages in three different designs.

I of course brought it to work and am using it. See?

Jenny and Colette, thank you both! You have brightened my day more than you can imagine!

Wendy the Math Wiz?

I laughed out loud when I read Rossana’s comment yesterday, saying I was a math wiz.

In college as a liberal arts major I had to take one math course to get my degree. I took a course entitled “Concepts of Mathematics” and the textbook had pictures.

Need I say more?

But seriously folks — this just proves that if I can do it, you can do it too!

Speaking of Liam, here he is.

Have a good weekend. Stretch out and relax!

  1. Wendy, I have a question about your beautiful Ab Fab throw project. Are any of the Colinette yarns in there really fuzzy? What I mean is, when you wrap yourself up in it, do bits of yarn come off on your clothes? It looks really soft and lovely, but I am worried that it would leave fuzzy bits on people or my couch if I made one. I LOVE Colinette yarns, though. :-)

  2. Now you need to combine your talents and interests and make spongebob intarsia socks!

  3. Thanks so much for answering my question yesterday, Wendy. I was all jazzed up last night so I began a few sketches–thanks for the encouragement!

  4. I’m still cracking up over the Spongebob mousepad. It’s great!

  5. They called that class “Math as a Liberal Art” at my school. I also took “Physics as a Liberal Art” to satisfy my “science requirement”.

  6. Cool stuff! I have Sponge Bob underwear and pajamas :D Are you left handed? If you are, how do you knit – lefty or righty!

  7. Wendy, in my book, you’re a goddess of many talents! Have a great weekend!

And Ann Marie, I’d flip a coin against you for Axel, but I really don’t think his Mommy and Daddy could ever give him up! He’s too precious!

    =)

  8. Oh, I just adore ya. That’s all.

  9. What a wonderful reminder from Lucy, and a fabulous photo of her too! Supermodel indeed!

  10. Such a lovely name for your sweater! That’s what I’m planning to name the little bub who will make his entrance into the world at the end of November. Magnificent choice. The sweater looks great too; it’s great to be able to see the progress from day to day. Looks like it’s flying right along.

  11. HA – love the expression on SB’s face on the mousepad! THAT should be the one who shops for Spongebob Stashpants!

  12. aha! I see that mousepad on the left side of your computer – I knew it! That explains why you’re so good a design – that ability to see things three dimensionally, and still be able to do the math to figure out how to make them work. very clever! Although I must assume that Miss Lucy, is even more talented and is ambidextrous! :-)

  13. Glad you liked it….had to get it when I saw it…. In the “old days” when I had an office…I too was a collector…..

    Have a wonderful weekend….

  14. Spongebob always makes me smile, and so do glam pics of Lucy. Thanks for sharing both! Have a great weekend!

  15. I’m so glad you got the highenergy twirling spongebob and that you liked it. It was so funny I had to send it. That battery can be replaced too, so you never run out of lollipop twirling fun!!

Thanks for making my day all the time! And for being so inspirational.

  16. just wanted to let you know that the SSRP box is in the mail to you — sent friday from the eastern shore of MD! hope you enjoy digging in!

  17. I saw a bunch of Spongebob candy stuff at the store on Friday night, and I thought of you.
