My current work in progress:

1. Mighty Mini, designed by Rachel Henry, knit from Socks That Rock Worthy in the "Tanzanite" and "The Green That Sings" colorways on a 3.0 mm needle.
2. Myriad stealth projects.

Friday! Friday! Friday!

Friday, the most glorious day of the week. I never thought I’d make it, yet here I am. Well, the week ain’t over yet. We’ll see.

Newsflash — I wore my Klaralund yesterday. I’m very happy with her and can report that I had no issues. No fighting with the rest of my outfit. No unseemly bunching up hither and yon. Klara’s a cool chick.

Here’s an early evening photo from Sleeve Island:

And . . . later last night I finished the second sleeve of Eloise. All that remains is to sew her sweet self together. Oh, and put buttons on her.

So . . . what’s up knitwise?

Remember a while back I bought a second pile of Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk to make her design Freida? And then I decided, in my own distinctive wish-washy way that I would use the yarn to make Magnolia from Rowan Vintage Style?

I’ve changed my mind again. My lovely golden tan Alpaca Silk is in the beginning stages of being knit into a new Wendyknits design. Just a simple, easy-fitting pullover, probably with a crew neck.

I’ve had a couple of questions about buying drop spindles. I bought mine online, from The Bellwether. If you do a Google search for “Bosworth midi” you’ll find a number of online retailers.

  1. That must be 1609 miles out to sea, right? Sure didn’t look like that around here. On a clear day from the Greenbrier Valley of WV I can sometimes see both the Appalachian and the Allegheny mountain ridges. Yesterday I was lucky to see the end of the driveway!

  2. Totally agree re wearing Klara, what a honey! It’s a shame it’s getting too warm here now though..
Looking forward to seeing the latest Wendyknits Design.

  3. Wow. Excellent visibility. I’m waving hello right now! Hellloooooo Wendyyy! Hellooo!

  4. Yet another Melissa says:

Wendy — get some sleep! Posting at 4 am?! Miss Lucy needs her beauty sleep (and surely she gets up to help you edit these columns, no?). Beautiful sweaters, lately, by the way.

  5. What’s with this middle of the night posting. I do it via Typepads ‘future’ settings but I’ll bet you are wide awake when you post?
I love the color of Alpaca Silk (it’s not one I can wear) and since Lara is almost complete I’m so tempted to buy more. Have a super good weekend. I’m so glad to see Friday!!

  6. Do you have any advice on the care (and blocking) of Silk Garden items? I know the label says dry clean only, but I’ve also heard that some have washed Silk Garden with no ill effect. What do you recommend?

  7. Good luck with the drop spindle! It took several different tries with several different spindles to finally find one that was a good spindle for me. Her name is Maggie and I bought her at Shuttle’s & Skeins in Boulder.

  8. Yikes! I’m knitting a scarf with Silk Garden and didn’t even think to look at the washing instructions. Please share any advice.

  9. Hi, this isn’t a comment about your work, which is lovely. I’m fairly new to knitting and have a question that I was hoping you’d be able to answer. When a pattern says to end with RS facing, does that mean the right side is facing away or towards you? Thanks.

  10. I wasnt sure I would make it either, hit and miss for a while. But I join you in a raucous rendition of the happy dance!!!

Thank Buddha it is Friday, two deadlines out of the way and an evening of BREATHING :)

  11. Eloise is turning out great. I would love to hear your comments on the care for the Noro yarn. I was really interested in this yarn but the dry clean thing doesn’t appeal to me at all. Hmmmm, what does one do?

  12. I pass onto you a new blog trend, Gravatars..

  13. I can’t let this entry go by without applause for that gorgeous shot of Lucy! But,hey,Lucy keep your fluffilicious tail away from “Betty”! ;-)

  14. HI: I saw the ponchos on your site and they are really cool. Where did you purchase the pattern for the ponchos. I especially like the Not-Colinette Vintage Knits Poncho in pink/green colorway. Thanks. BC
