My current work in progress:

Corrugated Shawl, designed by Cecelia Campochiaro, knit from Crave Caravan in the Tilly colorway, using U.S. size 4 needles.

Skye

I finished it, and I took crappy photos of it. See?

I took a flat photo too.

It rained for two solid days, and today it is dark and overcast, so good photos are almost impossible.

But I did start knitting something new:

This is the Ribbed Sweater — the free pattern for autumn ’05 for members of the Debbie Bliss Club. I’m making mine from chocolate brown Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk.

It’s an allover rib pattern, so it’s going to be a thick, cosy sweater.

Lucy thinks it looks like it would make a great kitty bed!

  1. Skye is beautiful, Wendy! And that sweater does indeed look to be *very* cozy, which sounds good as we’re in a winter storm watch tonight and tomorrow!

  2. Love the sweater! I’m sure Lucy would appreicate an Alpaca/Silk kitty bed. Only the best, right?

  3. great- job- beautiful…. next project— hmmmm alpaca silk……yum- yummmmm YUM… love it!
thnx for sharing your beautiful work- ๐Ÿ˜‰

i have one ball in a gorgeous teal— that i just pet…. and pet…..

  4. The sweater–if not the photography–looks great. And yes–we got over 6″ of rain yesterday! Unbelievably dreary, but considering we’ve been in a drought, I’m at least trying not to complain about it. And . . . bad for photos, but dark and dreary is good “comfort knitting” weather, so that’s something!

  5. Skye is great! And any leftover alpaca/silk would knit up into just the bestest Lucy blankie… Have to get ready for the ‘three brass monkey alert’!

  6. Hi Wendy!

Your sweater looks great, can’t wait to see what how your next creation will come out. Have you seen the Curse of the Were Rabbit yet? I went to see it today – won’t spoil anything but there is knitting in it!

    Happy Knitting!

  7. That new alpaca silk looks perfectly coordinated with Lucy.

  8. The Skye is beautiful!

You’re right, kathy. Maybe it’s the next installment after “Match You Bed to Your Cat”! ๐Ÿ˜›
It certainly looks like it’ll be a cosy sweater AND a cosy kitty bed.

  9. Aren’t ALL human clothes kitty beds? They are in my house!

Come to Florida, where it’s still 70 (or higher) and clear skies at the moment. Alas and alack, not good knitting weather. It’s hard to get interested in cozy sweater knitting here, but somehow, we manage! (grin) How do you like the Alpaca Silk? I love DB yarns, but have yet to try that one. Nice hand? Stitch definition? Do ya just wanna take a bath in it? Do tell!

Wendy, Skye came out great. Its the weather that sucks — it rained 9″ here in 36 hours so I know what you mean *lol*

I think an alpaca/silk kitty bed in the exact shade of the divine being you share you home with is a good idea. Smart of you to shape it like a sweater so you can enjoy it too once and a while.

Wanted to tell you too that the “Summer of Lace ” projects just amazed us. They were all so incredible. Way over our heads skillwise, but breathtaking to watch being made.

Thanks also for putting up our Project KATrina button. I cant even estimate how many people took the link and helped us save so many terrifed cats. Bless you and everyone here who contributed.

You rock. Bellykisses to Lucy. Best, Diana & Orion

  14. I love that Skye sweater, even with the off color model photo. Now I just need to figure out something to do with my 10 balls of Calmer in Khaki.

Did you know that you can felt the Alpaca Silk? {shudder} What a waste. Harumph.
