Let Bohus Open the Door

When people keep repeating
That you’ll never knit enough
When everybody keeps retreating
But you can’t seem to knit enough

Let Bohus open the door
Let Bohus open the door
Let Bohus open the door
To your heart

So here you are:

bohus122205 Let Bohus Open the Door

Still working on the front. But the next time you see the Bohus pictured here, I’ll have started on a sleeve. I hope.

It’s Thursday

And that means that it’s contest time: Week Four in the Birthday Month Contest.

And the question you must answer this week:

How old will Wendy be on her next birthday? I know this is an easy one for a lot of you.

Submit your guess (one guess per person, please) to The Official WendyKnits Contest Email Address by 3:00pm EST on Monday, December 26 with your guess for the day of the week on which I was born. I’ll draw a name for the winner from among the entries with the right answer. The winner and prize will be announced in Monday’s blog entry.

If you are unable to use the mailto: link, leave me a comment, and I’ll email the correct email address to you.

Okay, Rabbitch.

I humbly apologize for dissing the art of the dishcloth. By the way, Ann says she would like red dishcloths, please.

And Lucy would like Diamond to know that while she appreciates his interest, her heart belongs to a tuxedo kitty named Lucky.

Try to break it to Diamond gently, ‘kay?

Ho Ho Ho Indeed

We are pleased. Why are we pleased? Because we will not be returning to the office until Monday, January 9, 2006.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love use-or-lose leave.

Barring unforseen circumstances, I will be at the back table at Knit Happens tomorrow, knitting away on the Bohus.

Comments

  1. Ohpleaseohpleaseohplease, let me win this time!

Have a wonderful holiday, and enjoy your time off!

  2. Now I’m humming Pete Townsend songs…

  3. Is that the Official Lucy as Queen portrait? If not I think it should be. I am awestruck by her beauty in this shot.

I’ll send an email but I know you are NOT as old as I! (lucky girl)

  4. Back from vacation and I’m thoroughly enjoying your song titles.

    Don’t forget:

    Let Bohus open the door

    Bohus Girl (Uptown Girl)

    We will, we will, BOHUS!

    And, of course…

Have Yourself A Merry Little Bohus

    OK. No more.

Happy Holidays to you and Lucy!

  5. Yeah, Lucy is totally a queen, but in a GOOD way – not in the way it’s defined by the Cat Fanciers’ Association, nor in the way it’s defined by Nathan Lane.

  6. Lucy, please tell these Kitty-Come-Latelies (including you, Igor) that if Lucky ever falls from favor, the P-Man is on the job!! ;)

Great vaycay Wendy, enjoy it and happy holidays to you and yours!

PS – Guess what? Some kind and generous soul sent me a gift cerificate to Knit Happens so I have my very own pink and green bag too :)

  7. Your ‘hus is a very, very, very fine ‘hus,
With two cats in the yard,
Life used to be so hard,
    Now everything is easy
    ‘Cause of you…

Congratulations on the vacation. I’m looking forward to seeing your next bohus project.

Bohus, in the middle of our street -

by none other than – Crowded Hus

    just tryin to help

  9. Wendy,

your Bohus is beautiful. I wasn’t sure about the collar colors at first but the contrast with the deep green body seems to bring it out more. When are you starting work on your other Bohus kit. Is it a cardigan or another sweater? Are all the Bohus kits from Solveig the same price? I have emailed her but am yet to receive a reply.

  10. Diamond will get over it, right after he stops trying to impregnate his sister’s left ear. He’s earnest rather than accurate, for which I thank dog.

I could make a red dishcloth if required, however I have no red cotton. Wait until after my January 20 paycheque please.

And please also explain to me why Sasha is trying to lick French perfume from between my boobs. It’s not all that erotic, really. In fact, it’s slightly disturbing.

  11. Oh, my fair Lucy, you have admirers by the score! Remind your mommy that no matter how old she is, she’ll always be younger than mine! ;-)

  12. Hey Wendy, just wanted to say MERRY CHRISTMAS if I don’t see you at KH! I spoke with Kathy at HSH yesterday (Yes, buying even more fiber!)and she said you were making a visit soon. I so want to go down there and meet her in person and see her adorable shop; I keep saying I’m going to do a road trip down there sometime soon.

Hey, I have a question for ya, but I’ll put it in an email. Hope Santa is good to you, the King and Ms. Lucy!

  13. I am so jealous of your vacation! Enjoy!

    Thanks for your Bohus inspiration!

  14. Digit says on your next birthday, you will be twenty-eight. See, he’s still thinking sucking up to the mom might get him a date with the Luce… (Although I’m sure he’s not far off, of course.) ;) Enjoy your time off, dear.

  15. Wendy,

My computer doesn’t like the mailto. Where should I send my answer?

  16. I popped in today through a search for Pi shawls, as the EzAsPi list is plotting an anniversary Pi happening and loved all your shawls, then realized that you are the SAME Wendy that got me reunited with my Poems of Color book, and convinced my sweet hubbie to order the Wild Apple kit from Kimmet Croft… bless your heart and Merry Christmas!

  17. Lest we forget, that memorable 80′s disco tune …

She’s a BO-HUS, she’s mighty mighty, just lettin’ it all hang out.
    Yea she’s a BO-HUS, that lady’s stacked,
    And that’s a fact,
    Ain’t holdin’ nothin back, oh she’s a BO-HUS,
Yeah she’s the one, the only one,
    Built like an Amazon

Thank you very much, I’ll be here all week …

  18. Hi Wendy
Read your blog daily, thoroughly enjoy all.
Would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and the best for 2006. Good luck with your book too. I’m sure it will be a runaway success.
Tummy rubs to Lucy too of course.

  19. Ragdolls are almost exclusively pointed with blue eyes. Lucy happens to be a seal point. Crossed eyes is not unknown in ragdolls, they’re also prone to urinary disorders. I’ve been reading up on the breed because eventually I’d like to have one, and the founder of the breed sure was…weird. If you’re interested here is one link http://www.petpublishing.com/catkit/breeds/ragdoll.shtml

  20. Rumor has it you’ll be in Richmond on Thursday at Holly Spring Homespun? I may just have to make the trek out to Powhatan and see that Bohus in person! ;-)
