Lucy Can’t Come to the Blog Right Now.

lucy022006 Lucy Cant Come to the Blog Right Now.

She’s busy.

Thanks for the comments on laser pointers. We are, of course, very careful when playing with Lucy with the pointer. And we also don’t play with it for extended periods of time — don’t want to drive her crazy with something she can’t catch, you know? She does heartily enjoy it for short periods of time, though.

Speaking of driving one crazy . . .

I’m working on the 17 billion stitches of edging on the Bolero Jacket. Fun.

But I have a new toy!

My new pink Motorola Razr phone.

And of course there’s a photo of Lucy on it already.

Comments

  1. It’s so…pink! :)

And what, exactly, is Lucy busy doing?

  2. Poor Lucy must need to warm up her lil nose. hehe

  3. Did she go to a little kitty party and get kinda likkered up so that now she’s wearing a lampshade?!

Heh, the only picture on my new phone is a picture of part of Chaos’s face, used as my background…

  4. Ha! My Myrtle is fond of lamps, too. And my Jamie is TERRIFIED of laser pointers. Myrtle loves to play with shadows – they make Jamie nervous, too. But not like the laser pointers.

    I love your new phone!

  5. I’ve been staring at that phone. And the one that flips open sideways to reveal a keypad. Can’t make up mind, cute and pink or practial?

  6. Very lovely Lucy Lamp, the shade really compliments her fur nicely. Does it come in any other decorative home accessories?

  7. And the new phone’s name is ????????

  8. Why do cats do that? Mine used to do the same thing.

  9. Ah, the kitty tanning booth. I’m familiar with the phenomenon.

  10. Smart kitty to use light therapy in the winter time!

  11. JerseyGirl says:

I know exactly what Lucy is doing. My Kitty does too. Cat tanning! My cat tans under my desk light while I study for school. They will take heat in all forms

  12. Is it no wonder you’re among my top 5 blogs? Cats & k-nitting – they go together :) Just love the pink phone – now I’m jealous…

  13. One of my cats does the same thing! Trying to keep warm during these cold months.

  14. Kate Lathrop says:

She looks like my kitties – when they’re under the lamp I half expect to hear orders for pina coladas!

  15. It’s so cute the way cats will find the warmth…

  16. My cat crams herself between the tv and the wall. We have a wall heater that runs along the baseboard, so I guess heat builds up here. She also climbs into my dresser drawers and sits next to the stove when we bake. I wonder, do I keep it horribly cold or something??

Everyone seems to be getting a Razr these days. I keep telling myself, it’s just a phone… and I hate talking on the phone anyway! But, sigh, it’s pink and I want it! :)

  17. Two of my past cats, the much lamented Sissy and Cease, loved to play with lights too. We could torment them for hours with a flashlight, the reflections from a watch or piece of jewelry drove them bonkers, and the favorite was the crystal that hangs in my window. Billions of little rainbow lights, never to be caught. My current two kitties, Howard and Lyndon, don’t give a rats about lights – go figger.

  18. My cat Fee loves the laser pointer – she never gets tired of chasing it. It’s not hard to keep it out of their eyes, so don’t worry too much. More fun if you turn off most of the lights, run it around the ceiling a while, and then slooooowly bring it down a wall near her. If she’s like Fee, she’ll freak. My other cat Grady couldn’t care less.

    :o)

  19. Lucy obviously has something so important she’s looking at. We must not question her.

Oooh, phone. I’ve been attempting to get one of those on eBay for cheap(ish). No luck so far.

  20. Lisa, Mike, Jack, Della says:

cool razr! ummmm….Rhonda? Rhoda? Rhea? Rochelle?
    Robert? Richard? ;-)

  21. don’t you just love when cats stare aimlessly into a lamp….or the wall…or suddenly hop up and race into another room for no apparent reason????

Love the pink phone…I want one bad…hmm…maybe I can run over mine or something….

  22. That Lucy, I tell ya. I think she must sit around and think of all the cute things she can do for the blog to make us all just want to cuddle her. Lovely new Razr.

  23. Nice to see Lucy enjoying her personal tanning salon. She was looking a bit peaked.
Nice Razr. Can you shave with it, too?

  24. My new phone has a picture of “the roof” (Rufus) as the wallpaper. (Rufus, a.k.a. Big Butt, Ruffie, Daddy Cat, Big Boy etc)

  25. I love that picture of Lucy. Just adorable. You should send that to stuffonmycat.com since she almost looks like she’s wearing that lampshade.

  26. I have serious phone-envy. I’ve been holding back ever since I saw the Razr in pink, because my “free-phone” from Verizon isn’t up until April (actually $100 credit). I can wait, I can wait, I can wait. But, in the words of someone already, it’s so, so, pink!

  27. Are you ever afraid of hara-kiri-ing the phone with a dpn or sitting on it? I’ve heard that the razr can crack…

I hope reception is still good in a phone that slim. Come to think of it, I can probably upgrade my phone in about 6 months or so. Please let us know how you like it.

  28. Not having a cat who sits under lamps, I thought Lucy was in a time out!

  29. FYI – re laser pointers – I’m a veterinarian, and I recommend them to my clients with fat cats! They are great for promoting healthful exercise in those of the feline persuasion. They just require obvious common sense. I’m not at all worried about Lucy :)
