My current work in progress:

1. Thistle and Heather Socks (my own design), knit from MacKintosh Iona in the "Maude" colorway, on 2mm needles.
2. Myriad stealth projects.

Just a Quickie

Cuz I’m still not feeling great.

But I’ve finished the first sleeve for the miter sweater.

And I started my second Marine sock.

Elise asked:
Does that heel feel any differently on your foot due to the location of that line down the back?

You can’t feel it. At least I can’t. It looks more obvious than it really is.

Dobarah asked:
Is there any chance you could take a 5th picture of what the underside of the heel looks like?

Here are a couple of shots.

A couple of you asked how I do my increases on the sock. I do a raised increase. There are instructions with pictures on this page — scroll down to the raised increase.

He’s a quirky photographer!! Kind of like Amanda – a different view on life’s little moments.

  2. Nancy J

Lucy must be happy with the number of her shots in this post Hope you’re feeling better by now…thought my allergies had cleared up too (until this afternoon…sigh….)

  3. Lisa

I have two KOARC’s in training (they are five) who take pictures like that also! I get alot of feet pictures and dishwasher/refrigerator pictures. Sweater is looking great. I am horrible at visualizing how it will come together, but I am sure it will be a work of art!

  4. Chris

LOL – his pictures are pretty fun! I’m sorry to hear you aren’t feeling better yet. :(

  5. Barb

Lucy must be very happy today. There are lots of pictures of her. She is such a cutie. The sweater is looking good too. I hope you feel better soon. This weather is great, but I always get a case of the ickies this time of year.

  6. jody

OK, I may be dense, but what is the answer to that Jeopardy question?? Now I just really want to know!!

  7. KOARC

    A sliced Krispy Kreme donut!

  8. Camille

What is a sliced Krispy Kreme donut, Alex?

Sorry, KOARC, your answer must be in the form of a question.

  9. Binky

But *must* the Krispy Kreme donut be sliced in half? If I were to eat a Krispy Kreme chicken sandwich, I would demand *two* donuts, one for the top ‘bun” and one for the bottom! Nifty looking sock, BTW, and it inspires me to try again with toe-up socks: My first sock needed more room in the instep, so it was frogged and my courage fled with it.

  10. Hillary

A Krispy Kreme Chicken sandwich? No way! I hope that you’re feeling better really soon.

  11. KOARC

Camille – We don’t cotton to none o’ them Canadian wanker Jeopardy rules. Answers can’t be questions except in that hoser Alex Trebek’s warped, frozen little world.

  12. Megan

Seriously? Krispy Cremes and chicken? Ugh! I like the sweater sleeve though, can’t wait to see the finished product!

  13. Frarochvia

You know, I don’t understand how the sleeve works? Please dumb down the components and the two funky little strips on the side for not-so-smrt-me. Please?

  14. Kim

How sad is it that my first thought in seeing the Jeopardy contestants was that the one in the middle was named “Alpaca”??!!

I’m seriously loosing it and have been looking at yarn websites WAAAY too much this afternoon!

    Hope you feel better SOON!!!
    Kim

  15. MamaLana

Well, the Lucy pictures aren’t bad! :::snort:::

  16. Jenn

Wendy, I read in an old post that you purchased a bunch of Noro Kureyon in 55 a few years back. Any chance you still have some that you may be willing to part with? I have a familiar story: Started to knit a project, put it aside for a year, wen t back to knit it and now the yarn’s discontinued.

  17. julieanne

Ooh! I love your mini clocks! I have a small collection myself, but haven’t run across anyone else that collects them. =)

  18. G. Knerd

    What are doughnuts?

Sorry, I can’t help it – answering Jeopardy questions is like a compulsion in this household.

  19. Marianne Y

I do love your new socks & sock yarn, Wendy! The color & the sheen are gorgeous, as is your knitting.

KOARC’s pictures are interesting. They kind of remind me of what my youngest son (15 years old) might take if he got ahold of my digital camera. :-) I like the ones of the little teddy bear & your sock on the bear.

Wendy, I really hope you feel better soon! Maybe you should go to the doctor tomorrow, so he can figure out what is up to help you?

    Take care!

  20. Teyani

can’t wait to see that sweater finished – it’s going to be fabulous.
    love the pictures.

  21. Debi

First may I say EWWWWWWWWWW to the donut/chicken sandwich!!

That KORAC is a laff riot! I love the shot of your little clock collection!

  22. Debi

Opps — feel better, toots! :)

  23. Cynthia

    *sends you virtual chicken soup*
I hope you feel better soon!

  24. Elizabeth

Are there little short row pieces on each side of the end of the sleeve? Are they to give you a little extra width while keeping the miters centered?

Hope you are feeling better (and taking good sinus medication); I keep hoping for an end to spring sinus problems but we aren’t there yet!

  25. carrie

I love the display of spindles in the background of the KOARC man pic! Cool =) I may have to buy some more, it’s such a nice decorating touch.

  26. Cathy-Cate

I did a double take at the miter sleeve picture — I thought you had knitted in little brown tabs all along the sleeve edges, and I was trying to figure out that technique, as it was new to me! I then figured out that it’s your blocking square — sigh. Time for an eye check or something.
Glad you have a little time off, but too bad you have to spend it not feeling the best. Lucy will take good care of you.

  27. Tonia

Nice photos. LOL Looks like you need to hide the camera.

The miter jacket is coming along. I love the colors.

  28. Kristen

So are you smitten with this new heel? Is it going to become your new standard?

  29. WendyT

Geez Wendy. Hope you feel better soon. It has been going on for a while now – - bummer. Time to see the doctor?

Love your socks – - the colorway is GORGEOUS!

I never did tell you that I finished my Bohus sweater. I’ve worn it quite a few times now and have received some nice compliments. I’m glad I did it but not sure if I’ll be repeating it anytime soon. Those little, tiny black stitches!!! Especially when I was stitching pieces together – - I thought I was going blind!

Kisses to Lucy as usual. I scroll to her picture and it puts a smile on my face everytime.

    WendyT.

  30. Peg

GWS-GET WELL SOON! Love to Lucy!

  31. Dorothy B

KOARC takes pictures like Girly does. If it might be funny, take it.

Love the Lucy pictures and thanks for the Errata on the sock pattern. I’m finished the toe on my first sock. Slowly but surely, I’m going to get it done and done right this time.

  32. Holly

Blech. Does anyone really eat that? Together? My stomach turned a little just thinking about it…KK Doughnuts are dandy just as they are-no chicken is necessary.I promise.
Your socks are looking great!! Get better soon :~)

  33. ronni

Thank the KOARC for me. That Jeopardy question’s put me off Krispy Kremes for good. That ought to help the waistline a little.

I hope you’re feeling better soon. Your sweater is looking lovely. And the marine sock is very pretty too. I love the color of that yarn. Might have to hunt some up even…

  34. Jessica

Sorry to hear you still aren’t feeling well. Get better soon!!

  35. Carol

If not for the knitting at the beginning, I would swear this was posted by KOARC:) Hope you’re feeling better soon!

  36. auntiemichal

Ran across this mitered sock pattern (by another name!): http://home.golden.net/~kmatthews/modknit/domino_socks.htm
Its miters are squares instead of diamonds like the Heartland Knits Diamond Patch Sock http://web.mac.com/vsever/iWeb/HeartlandKnits/Socks.html.
