Stitches Bound

There will be no blog post tomorrow because I’m heading up to Baltimore in the morning for a nice long weekend at Stitches with L-B.

The other day someone asked in the comments how to recognize L-B and me for “real.” Apparently my field guide was not specific enough. icon wink Stitches Bound

L-B and I consulted and came up with the following:

L-B is just an ootch under 5’3″ tall. Wendy is just an ootch under 5’6″ tall.

L-B has long (though she had it cut today so your guess is as good as mine!) greying hair, hippie-style. Wendy has light reddish brown hair that badly needs cutting — it’s about 150 different lengths, the longest being shoulder length. And it hangs in her eyes.

L-B has beautiful blue eyes and will not be wearing glasses. Wendy has green eyes and will be wearing glasses.

L-B will be wearing birkies, Wendy will be wearing tan Earth shoes in the “Hippie Vegan” style. I expect we’ll both be wearing handknit socks.

That’s the best I can narrow it down for you.

Speaking of handknit socks . . .

BTW – what is the easiest of your sock patterns? I’ve only made 3 socks – I’ve got second sock syndrome.

    Margie

  34. Have a great time at Stitches. – I’m debating going, too – want to, but “shouldn’t”. Make sure to stock up for projects to keep you occupied while you’re on the mend! My thoughts will be with you for a speedy, easy recovery.

  35. Wendy- Have a blast at Stitches. I still haven’t recovered from SMW in August.
A whole wall of Socks That Rock- it coulda been fatal!

  36. Recently you wrote about QUIVIUT (?spelling?) and said how wonderful it is….I have just returned from the Knit and Stitch show at London’s Alexandra Palace, and now TOTALLY know what you mean…..but at £34 for 100 grams (about $65/2oz) I simply couldn’t justify it….but now have it on my ‘longings’ list!!! Keep on knitting Wendy, often think of you!
    Fran, Aylesbury, UK

  37. QUIVUIT…..I read about this a while back on your blog, and had never seen or heard of it. I have returned yesterday from the knit and stitch show in London, UK, and now I can say I know EXACTLY what you mean, it is really gorgeous! Sadly, at £34 (about $65) for 50g it was way outside yesterday’s budget, but definitely to be added to the ‘someday’ list! Greeting to you from here in the Uk, Fran

  38. QUIVUIT….2 comments, I thought I’d lost the first one….sorry! (still true though!) Fran

  39. Where are you? Did L- B and you get sucked into some kinda of vortex??

I cant wait to hear all about your trip!!

( On a personal note I completed my first toe up magic loop sock. It’s on my blog. I used your heel method, which worked out swell I thought)

    KImber,

ps kiss Lucy dee for me and I double dare you to walk over and change the channel on KOARC.
