My patterns are available for sale at:

My current work in progress:

1. To-Be-Named Stole, my own design, knit from Zen Yarn Garden Serenity 20 in the "Topaz" colorway, on US 5 (3.75mm) needles.
2. Myriad stealth projects.

FYI

Laura has released the Pacific Islands pattern for sale. You can purchase it from her site here. I recommend this pattern — easy enough for a lace newbie and fun enough to keep the interest of a more-experienced lace knitter. And the resulting shawl is gorgeous!

There’s also the option to make a scarf, if you are an immediate gratification kind of knitter.

I’ve made a start on the second half of the shawl.

Sister, if you’re a total geek, then so am I – I would love to get a look at that book! I have a map of London’s Tube that sometimes I just pore over, as if I were in London, or going there soon, or something. Sadly, none of these are the case, so I just pore over the map. :)

Love the last picture of Lucy!

  2. Wendy in Cambridge

You’re not a geek at all for wanting that book. A good friend of mine just purchased that book for a friend of hers, and he loves it!

Off to buy that lovely shawl pattern.

Lucy can’t take a bad photo!

Oh, Lucy is such a silly cutie! My cats do the same thing most of the time, and are usually quite uncooperative when it comes to me getting pictures of them. That’s why I usually take about 10 whenever they decide to stay in whatever cute position they’re in. Makes up for all the failed attempts.

  4. Judy

OK, the secret is out. Lucy is a normal cat.

  5. bellamoden

Is it wrong to love Lucy’s crossed eyes? I don’t want to be right…….

  6. Mama Cat

Re comment #4 by Judy – Lucy?? Normal?? Never. It’s just that sometimes a star needs a break away from the constant weary rush of the paparazzi. After a bit of lobster and an extra-long nap she’ll be back in form again.

    Wiggly Kitty!

Cool book- I’ve seen it and been tempted. I have saved subway, bus, etc. maps from my travels.

  8. Sandra K David

love the back feet up pose – and it’s great to see her in arms!

  9. Alice in RIchmond

So Not Geeky! It was so much fun to learn about the London Underground and what was at each stop!

  10. Jenny in Virginia

I just have to tell you how much I enjoy the photos of Lucy! I think all little ladies named “Lucy” are special…I had a 14 year old kitty named Lucy that passed away a few months ago…I’m just lost without her. I check your blog everyday to see all the gorgeous creations you are knitting…but also to see what Lucy is doing!

If we could come up with the right caption, that last Lucy shot would be a great lolcat!

  12. Babs

The book sounds like great fun……..I found a tie with the New York City transit map………but it was “pilfered”……..love maps……….and drooling over the Pacific Islands pattern……thanks for sharing………..am trying (in vain) to get my cat to dust………!!

  13. Teyani

love the Lucy out-takes…. hah haahahahahahahah
thanks for the absolutely great chuckle tonight!

  14. amy

back-paws-with-computer is my favorite of the Lucy photos. :)

  15. Thomasean

I can’t see Lucy at work, but I know one thing..she’s making me like cats….(I hate cats). I’ve started to look at all of them and think “That’s a pretty one… ohhwwwww that one too”. I love her and her pics… she thinks she’s the chit (and she is).

Thanks for the link to the lace stole/scarf. She has some nice stuff. Especially those blocking wires. WOW!!!

How are you feeling girlie, hope you’re getting stronger by the day.

Happy holidays in case I don’t get in any more.

  16. ann

just one second …… did you think you were a partial geek before you bought that book? I do believe we both crossed that line awhile ago! ; )

  17. Debi

I think seeing Lucy’s cataloons is a perfect picture! :)

  18. Debi B

I have a little white peek-a-poo who is 14 years old and just HATES to have her picture taken. All she has to do is SEE the camera and she squints her eyes tightly shut and gets away FAST! LOL! She already is kind of funny looking so I have learned over the years that a good picture of her is a real feat! Our animals certainly do brighten up our days!!!

  19. Miki

Cute Lucy ! I do not know if it is your photo talent or Lucy herself, but every photos of her seems to have something to draw people in. Lucy could be a movie star (cat). You two make me laugh everydday !!

  20. Becky

She has some very dainty feet attached to those pantaloons. Happy holidays!

  21. JOANN

Ok, I wasn’t imagining it until I saw another post referring to Lucy’s crossed eyes – too CUTE!!

I love your shawl – the color is beautiful! I must acquire some Wollmeise soon!

Merry Christmas to you & your family!

  22. Michele in Maine

I am helpless in the face of your recommendations. The pattern is downloaded, printed out and sitting in a sheet protector already! It will be the perfect thing for some lavender Malabrigo baby merino lace that I just got at my LYS.

    Love Lucy’s fuzzy belly!

  23. Alex

I totally have that book. It’s AWESOME.

  24. Juti

Right now I’m reading a book on the history of the London Underground: Christian Wollmar, _The Subterranean Railway_. So far pretty good!

  25. Judy Bushey

Every diva (Lucy) has her moment. Love the shawl.

  26. MamaLana

There are NO bad pictures of Lucy; you know that! I’m setting up 2008 on my new Lucy calendar, and I find her loveliness downright distracting. What a beauty.

  27. Kathy

    Especially love the rear-feet-up-with-cataloons photo!

  28. Ian

Lucy is like Adam Sandler in the movie “The Waterboy.” She loves her momma!

  29. Alison Jacobson

Love the pic of Lucy with her crossed eyes …. too delicious!
