A Wall of Tired

That’s what I hit today. It’s a very good thing I took today off from work, because I’ve done pretty much nothing today, apart from a bit of laundry, a couple of errands, and a whole lot of being cat furniture for Lucy, who seems to have figured out that if she sits on me all the time, I won’t be able to leave.

Sheri posted a great entry that nicely summed up the Fling experience, here. Sheri sure knows how to put together a Fling, let me tell you.

My sock-in-progress got a lot of attention over the weekend. Here it is, completed:

I’m calling this pattern “St. Louis Socks.” I have started the second one, though I’ve not done much work on it. The sock yarn is from Neighborhood Fiber Company. It is 100% merino fingering weight, and the colorway is called “Logan Circle.”

I did finish the Twisted Logic Socks Wednesday evening before leaving for St. Louis.

I’ll let you know when this pattern is available, but I now need to go back to being cat furniture for Miss Lucy.

  2. Oh, I´m so envious! I do wish I could have been there.
The only Fling I´ve ever tried is the Highland Fling…
But it´s a big consolation that *someone* has given me
the pattern and yarn for a pair of Cookie A socks.
They will be perfect to dance in too!

  3. Wendy your hair is absolutely amazing! Cookie A has a beautiful pic of you on her blog. I am anxiously awating the publication of the Twisted Logic pattern. I have just the yarn marinating in the stash.

  4. Wendy, my Neighborhood Fibers yarn is next on my list to be knit. What size needles did you end up using for the St. Louis Socks?

  5. Oh! It sounds as if it was 2 much fun! What wonderful pics. I do so want to attend a Fling! My cats treat me as cat furniture too, I feel immensely honored! Love the ST.LOUIS SOCK -especially the color choice! luv.m.

  6. Thanks for the great class, Wendy; you’re a wonderful teacher and made everything so clear as well as fun. I started a toe-up sock right after the class and am about to start the heel you taught. Hope you get rested up soon. I’m glad Lucy is helping by making you stay put.

  7. Hi Wendy, Love both of the socks. So glad you had an awsome time at the Fling. I would be tired too. How nice of L-B to send you the gift. I am so happy to see all of the pictures from the Fling. Your hair looks beautiful. I’m sure Lucy was happy to have you home as cat furniture. My cats do the same thing. I must say when I go away, I really miss my herd of animals. Have a good day at work tomorrow. Mickie

Hi Wendy, Love your St Louis sock. I can’t wait for the pattern and for Sheri to get the colorway. But first I should make my Spring Fling sock :) Thanks again for the great class. And I enjoyed talking and knitting with you in StL. Hi to Miss Lucy. Kristi

  9. The socks are beautiful, but I have to say the photo of Lucy is most beautiful of all … that’s one of my favorites of her so far. Sometime I should paint her in that kind of lighting (the golden glow to the left/her right is perfect). She looks like a queen right there.

    Best to you all,
    firefly

  10. Isn’t there some sort of law that says if you aren’t completely beat after returning from something that fun you weren’t doing it right?? ;) Glad you had a good time. The socks are lovely!

  11. Lovely socks!

  12. Hmmmmm, never thought of it in quite that manner, but I must say being “Cat Furniture” is a very warm and vibratingly (provided of course theres a purr to go along) nice place to be :-) I am usually a bed for a 15+lb, 11yrold purrring furball and a chair for a 5lb 7mo old purring furball so I understand the “unable to move” part of your comment above.
Miss Lucy…you keep your Mama quiet and allow her to get some much needed rest by being a “Purrrring Sleeping Pill”
