The Lost Weekend

I’m coming off one of the most unproductive weekends I can remember. But sometimes a girl has just got to chill, right?

I thought I had a touch of food poisoning on Thursday, but now it seems like it must be a virus or something. Blech. I’m laying low and forcing fluids and doing not much at all.

Except I’ve been Plurking almost non-stop all weekend. Plurk is the most enjoyable time-suck I’ve found in a very long time. My Plurk page is here, by the way. I’ve found lots of other knitters I know on Plurk and we’ve been having a par-tay (complete with dancing bananas) all weekend.

I did manage to finish the Swan Song Socks.

And here is their “glamour” shot:

As I mentioned before, this pattern will be a freebie. I’ll write it up and get it uploaded when I’m feeling better.

This is what I’m knitting now:

That”S 100% merino sock yarn from the Unwind Yarn Company, from this etsy shop. The colorway is creme de menthe, and I have started a sock:

Meanwhile, Lucy is helping me by napping.

I do think I’ll join her . . .

  1. Yuck, I hope you feel better soon. Plurk looks like a lot of fun and that yarn is gorgeous! I’m torn between her semisolids and her multicolors…. I’m looking forward to your new pattern!

  2. I hope you feel better very soon. I love how your lacy Swan Song pattern and the pretty stripes look together. Your creme de menth sock reminds me of the hand-dyed sock yarns I picked up at MSWF and has me thinking of starting a new pair of socks.

  3. To Plurk or not to Plurk.
    The question on everyone’s mind!
But, to those who declined my invitations, please reconsider so I can earn karma to get a dancing banana like Wendy has!

  4. Sending good health Karma.

Love the creme de menthe yarn.

DH always says that knitting with a cat is one of the most recuperative things he can do. Hope it helps you!

  24. Hope you are feeling much better by now. Bad enough with the heat never mind being sick. Your socks are stunning. Love the new yarn, pretty color.

  25. The socks are lovely, and I hope that you are feeling much better. I recommend Glaceau’s SmartWater when you are feeling low like that. It’s water with electrolytes and nothing else in it-no sugar, flavor, etc. It just tastes like water. I used it during a bout of food poisoning, and I think it helped more than plain water. I’ve also read that Metro Water is good for upset stomachs-it’s water with mint essence in it-again, nothing else. I love it in the summer-it’s so refreshing on hot humid days. It does come in a lemon variety, which is quite yummy.

  26. Just found your blog! Love the socks and thanks for the toe up sock pattern. Hope you feel better soon.

So sorry to hear you’re under the weather – that sucks. ๐Ÿ™ At least you have Plurking (and Lucy) to help pass the time. I hope you feel better soon.

  28. I’m trying to stay away from plurking. I’ve got too much knitting to do. I hope you get well soon. Take lots of naps with Lucy. I was fairly productive this weekend. I finally finished the Opal toe-ups I was working tw0-at-a-time at Fling. Now my projects are much more manageable. I also spent some time organizing some knitting things. I was buying duplicates of your patterns because I wasn’t organized. We’re gonna have doorprizes at knitting group tonight. Gotta go…stay cool, knit socks.

  30. Please be careful. One of my employees thought it was the flu and wound up with a burst appendix. Please feel better soon. By the way, where do you stand on the square toe or Bosnian toe sock for toe ups?
