My current work in progress:

1. Mighty Mini, designed by Rachel Henry, knit from Socks That Rock Worthy in the "Tanzanite" and "The Green That Sings" colorways on a 3.0 mm needle.
2. Myriad stealth projects.

Vote!

Y’all came up with a lot of creative and fun names for my new sock pattern. I had a hard time narrowing it down to just a few choices, but I did. So it is time to vote!

Here’s a “nice” photo of the first sock to help you in choosing a name.

And here is the second sock in progress.

I am being succinct here because I’ve not much time for blogging for the next couple of days. (Or knitting either.) So . . . carry on. Knit ‘em if you’ve got ‘em.

Twisty Bits

Remember my Twisty Bits sock pattern? It’s now available at The Loopy Ewe, here. There were still copies available when I checked.

A couple of you asked about the photos of Lucy in the blog. Do I take photos every day or do I stockpile photos for use?

I do try to take pictures every day and use photos from that day. However, sometimes I go back and use an older photo, usually from a few days earlier. If it is darker than usual when I come home or if the little princess doesn’t feel like cooperating, I’ll use an older photo. Or if I happen to have taken several really good photos, I will want to use all of them. The photo above was taken just a few minutes before I wrote this blog post.

Lucy sez:

The life of a supermodel is not an easy one. But do I complain? Well, maybe a little.”

Although she is simply exhausted from her supermodel lifestyle, she would like you all to know that she has fun in her “down time.”

Like playing with one of the fun new toys that Tiny Tyrant sent her!

  1. Great choices. The socks are lovely!

It’s nice to know that Lucy isn’t always up for a photo shoot. I was feeling a little bad for my non-photogenic felines.

  2. I know I originally sided with Farfalle, but after seeing the new head-on shot I changed my mind to Ribbon Candy. No matter what it’s called it’s a pretty sock.

  3. Even if the sock wasn’t pink, I would still have to choose Ribbon Candy.

I just ordered the Twisty Bits pattern from the Loopy Ewe, thank you for letting us know it’s available. And I HAD to order some new yarn for it… So much for knitting from the stash this summer.

  4. I like the ribbon candy name suggestion! It makes me want to pull out all kinds of variegated yarns for the pattern.

Lucy *is* a rather excellent model :-)

  5. That was a hard choice! I was originally on the butterfly track, but I really like Farfalle…

Ribbon candy makes me think of my grandparents and the yummy candy they always had :) Great names!

  8. Ribbon candy reminds me of Christmas. So pretty, I hate to eat it.

  9. Love those socks, color is beautiful. Lucy is a sweet supermodel. You take great pictures. All great names for the socks.

  10. Julie The Purple Chick says:

I don’t post very often at all, but today I just gotta say it: “That’s a pretty girl, that Lucy!”
(Wendy, my daughter April is over my shoulder saying, “Say Hi to Lucy for Me”… so there ya go).

  11. Great sock!! :) I like all of the names, so I had a hard time choosing. I also scored a copy of the Twisty Bits pattern, along with a few more of yours that I didn’t have. :D

  12. Just a heads up – there’s a sock pattern floating around from about a year ago called Flutter-by :) http://www.librarygirl.co.uk/knits/docs/Flutter-by%20socks.pdf (PDF). It uses taht butterfly-looking slipped stitch pattern.

Not that there is a rule that 2 sock can’t have the same name!

  13. That pink is even yummier knitted up, and the pattern is perfect for it! And Miss Lucy is, without a doubt, the most photogenic and stunningly beautiful feline I have *ever* seen!

  14. OrangeBroom says:

Hi, what a nice baby cats you have it! impossible to do not be in love with !!! greetings OrangeBroom

  15. JoAnn-WI says:

The new socks look really kewl. Thanks for sharing Lucy photos. I don’t have a cat, but would like one someday. I love all the expressions!

  16. What great names!
I really love Ribbon Candy as a name, but think that calls for it to be knit in certain colors. Grey Ribbon Candy just wouldn’t be the same….

And I think some of the names could inspire you to design other socks even if they’re not picked!

Rest up, Lucy. It’s a hard job, but someone’s got to do it.

I scored Twisty Bits and some new yarn, too! The new sock is extremely pretty. Not nearly as pretty as Lucy, of course.

  18. I really like the ribbon candy name. That is great that you take so many pictures of your little supermodel, I need to get in the habit of taking more pictures of my dogs.

  20. I do agree with the others that voted for Ribbon Candy after looking at the names you had picked and going back and forth looking at the sock and the names Ribbon Candy had to be the one.

  21. Ribbon Candy seems especially appropriate given the pink color of the sock. It looks like they would be raspberry flavored, if you tasted them!

  22. I loooove the sock! I chose “Dragonfly”, but I see that “Ribbon Candy” is showing up to be the winner. Either way, it’s beautiful!

  23. Ahhhh, to have the life of Lucy.

  24. Judging from the results so far, seems Ribbon Candy will be the name of the socks … it does seem very appropriate.

It is good of Lucy to sacrifice a little bit of her personal time for photos ops that inspire and entertain her huge and ever growing public.

    Best to you both today,

  25. What a cute toy! She is such a pretty girl.

  26. I love that Lucy still likes to play with toys. My cat needs to be pried out of her kitty bed or my chair with a crowbar sometimes.

  27. it looks like butterfly wings or farfalle to me, but i liked the name ‘dragonfly’ better and voted accordingly. quite like the pattern AND the color. do baby booties count as ‘socks’?
