My current work in progress:

Moth Cardigan, designed byAmy Christoffers, knit from Rowan SoftYak DK in the Plain colorway, using U.S. size 3 and 5 needles.

The Long and Winding Sweater

It is time for the long haul — the knitting of plain stockinette for what seems like miles to complete the body of the Daily Sweater.

The miles of stockinette are relieved by one purl stitch at each side to create a side seam. I’ve put a marker before each purl stitch so I can zone out while knitting the stockinette. When I hit the marker I’ll remember to purl the next stitch. Theoretically.

I blame lack of knitting lately on this:

Those suckers are addictive. Once I get started with one, I  . . . can’t . . . stop . . . cleaning . . .

This is as clean as my kitchen has been in 10 years:

Dunno how long this cleaning kick will last, but it is nice to know that for one brief shining moment . . .

PolitiKat

Lucy enjoyed the Presidential debate so much last Friday night that I plan to allow her to watch the Vice-Presidential debate tonight.

Who knew she was such a political animal?

Of Mice and . . . Well . . . Mice

I enjoyed reading everyone’s comments about the mouse situation I blogged about yesterday and I appreciate everyone’s suggestions for dealing with the rodent infestation. However, I work in a large federal building and have absolutely no say whatsoever in the methods used for mouse removal. I wish we could have feline mousers in the building, but I know that is out of the question.

I appreciate also your comments pointing out that the snap traps are actually a fairly humane method of mouse disposal. That makes me feel a bit better about the poor little guys. However, I am sad to say that our building maintenance people also use glue traps. Fortunately, there are none of those in my immediate area.

The randomly-chosen winner of the Lucy fiber blogged about on Monday is Cindy. Congratulations, Cindy! I’ve emailed you.

Thank you to everyone who offered to take the fiber off my hands. 🙂

The Daily News

I’ve divided the Daily Sweater into sleeves and body. Woo-hoo!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I must get back to the knitting.
