My current work in progress:

1. Woodfords, designed by Elizabeth Doherty, knit from Madelinetosh Merino Light in the "paper" colorway on U.S. size 3, 5, and 7 needles.
2. Myriad stealth projects.

Tempus Fugit

It seems like it was just Halloween, and here we are, on December 2nd already. I know you’ll be pleased to know that I took some time to decorate my office this morning:

So now I am in a properly festive mood, thank-you very much.

And I’m loving my work in progress.

I actually started this Thanksgiving night, but only knit a bit then, due to turkey-fatigue. But I got quite a bit done over the weekend, and then was too busy to do more than a couple of rows last night. I’m wishing I had more spare time this week because this is just so much fun to knit.

The pattern is complex enough to be entertaining, but not so complex that it takes a lot of my attention. And I love this yarn — the Tilli tomas Demi-Plie silk. I bought it on sale somewhere — don’t remember where. I’ve got 1160 yards in this colorway (Parchment) and am now patting myself on the back for having the foresight to have purchased an equal amount in Natural. I have Plans for that yarn, but they are not sufficiently “gelled” to be discussed here in public. icon wink Tempus Fugit

This won’t mean anything to anyone but my Plurk buddies . . .

But today I hit the highest possible Karma score. Moments before:

Moments after:

I’m thinking about making Lucy call me “Ma’am” from now on. Or maybe “Mommie Dearest.”

No, I’m an indulgent mother, really. Why else would I have let Lucy have her own phone?

Except now I get text messages like this all day:

Lucy sez:

“I wuz framed! I iz innocent, I tells ya!”

Sadly, I have been a bad plurker and I am now karmarupt. :-(

  3. Aw! If my Alice had her own phone I would need unlimited texting.

  9. I love the lace Wendy! I’m always amazed at your focus and ability to get so much done :-)

I caught one of the cats on the kitchen counter last night helping himself to turkey (he never bothered to text me obviously). Boy, he must have been desperate because I don’t think I’ve ever seen him on the counter before!

  10. Somehow I think the KOARC has something to do with that turkey texting. Call me crazy, but…

And indeed that sheep is truly adorable! With someone that festive looking down on you, how could anything go wrong?!

  11. So when did Lucy get her own phone? It’s a good thing Perry P never found out or there would have been “heck” to pay.

Congrats on 100.00 Karma – you truly are a goddess among plurkers as well as knitters. :)

  12. The sheep is adorable! I love the decorations and Santa hat. And the shawl…words don’t express how gorgeous it is. As always, you and your knitting are an inspiration.

I joined Plurk but haven’t actually plurked yet. It’s still fun!

  26. I knit Sivia’s pattern in alpaca laceweight and, of course, it’s beautiful. In your yarn, it’s so different, and yet just as beautiful. You’ve inspired me to make another one.

  27. That sawl!!! Actually I’m speechless.

  30. LOL. I love the little Christmas lights “necklace” and the cute hat too. The new project is beautiful. It’s all about having fun and loving the project you are working on, right? Good for you. Also, I think we should change your Plurk name to “Mighty and Powerful Plurk Overlord” to mark your Karma score. Everyone knows I’ll never get there!! ugh.

OH, and shhhhhh…… don’t talk too loud about Lucy’s new phone, then I’ll have to get some for mine!

  32. Your stole is looking great! Is the Tilli Tomas worth the price or is it a pick up on sale yarn? I’ve been looking at it for a while, and I keep getting scared off by the cost.

  33. Lets talk Silk for a moment… Will you block this shawl? does silk need blocking? if yes, do you block in the same manner as wool? if you don’t block silk because it just doesn’t need blocking, how will the lace pattern show in the end? as you can see, I’m silk challenged.–patti

  34. The stole is magnificent. Tho I know it’s silk, the yarn almost looks linen-y in the picture. Might make a nice summer wrap! I have a lot of linen-cotton mix that a weaver friend gave me — think that would work or is it too rigid?
