Some Random Stuff

This morning I shared a very special moment with my car:

I confess to one extra trip around the block for the sake of the photo op.

It got very cold last night and there was a tiny sprinkle of snow.

Note how the flag is standing straight out — there is some serious wind going on right now. I will confess to having opened my window a little while ago, but the wind was too strong (40 mph) and rattled the screen alarmingly, so I closed the window. I’ve not yet turned the heat on, but the temperature is supposed to be between 14 – 22 degrees tonight so maybe tonight is the night. You just never know.

I’ve done some work on my stole:

And Miss Lucy is hunkered down on her cozy cushion.

So, basically, all is right with the world.

  1. I live on the California coast, so snow is just a dream…
You recently had a fire in your Condo. I meant at the time to mention this product I use for my pet.

The cell phone option is awesome!
    Happy Sunday!

  2. Maybe you’d better warn Lucy that the heat is coming on…the surprise might be too much for her delicate nerves. :-)

LOLOL Wendy, I thought that I was the only person in the world who kept track of “special” odometer readings. Glad to know that I am not alone!
The stole is looking fantastic. Keep up the good work.

  4. Lovely stole! Miss Lucy obviously knows how to handle cold weather ;)

  8. Yes, Lucy looks very content in that position and I’m sure she’ll love you tonight if the heat goes on. We’ve had below zero here the past few nights.
Your stole is looking very beautiful – is it for you or a gift?

    Stay warm!

  9. Ha! So I am not the only one who takes pictures of speedometer milestones! I can’t wait to show this post to my munchkins, who took a picture of my speedometer when it read 44444 and I was going 44 mph. =)

I cannot imagine opening a window with all of that cold…good thing Lucy has lots of fur.

  10. Congrats to your car! The stole is beautiful and as usual, so is Lucy. Our kitty is asleep in a tight ball as the temperature has dropped a lot since this morning. Here in Connecticut we might have single digit temps tonight. Brrrr. Thank goodness for warm hats and gloves. I can’t believe you’ve gone this long without turning on your heat!

  11. Your stole is looking so great!
I wish I was lucky enough to have the option of putting on the heat. My dorm puts it on violently high, and we have both windows open in 30 degree weather and it doesn’t help. we’re still sweating. :<

  13. love the car photo, classic, LOL

  14. I’m waiting for my odometer to turn 200K. I wish my car was as lightly used as yours. The weather is taking a turn, I am impressed that you’ve been able to hold off till December for the heat!

  15. I love these number things. When I turned 60 my granddaughter turned 6. I thought this was a lovely co-insidence, but everybody looked at me as if I was mad. My brother said (very carefully) “well I would never get excited about something lik that, but then ahm uhm cough, cough” I got the message.

  16. Your stole looks lovely! I need to get busy on mine so it will be done in time for my Christmas Party, Dec 20th. :)

  21. What is the temp in your condo ? I try to live with lower temps but my sinus start to ache if the air is below 70 in my house. I live in Houston

  22. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that’s taken a slightly longer than usual route in order to get a great odometer number. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any of mine on camera — it was just for the pleasure of seeing it.

Also, I am quite jealous of your general snowlessness.
