I returned home from The Loopy Ewe Spring Fling late yesterday afternoon.
I’ll tell you up front — I never took my camera out of my bag. Yes, I am lame. 
I was too busy — teaching classes, catching up with old friends and meeting new friends, and basically having fun.

Why are we blurry? I’m clinging to Kate for dear life. And why am I clinging to Kate for dear life?
Because I am wearing her Steve Madden platform pumps with the 5″ heels.
My feet still aren’t sure what that was about . . .
Tempted Stacy was there, and I was so happy to be able to spend some time with her. And guess what? She gave me a skein of Lucky Lucy (the yarn I used for my Sprucey Lucy socks — pattern is on my free patterns page) to give away!

The shoes are cute, but my feet hurt just looking at them!

Sounds like a great time was had by all. I would have tipped right over onto my nose in 5″ heels, never mind just clinging to someone! My mom wears really tall heels (at the tender age of 76) and I am awed.

I would love to have a skein of Lucky Lucy. If I don’t win, I’ll have to stalk Tempted’s site for some. Rooming with Darthknitter had some advantages–she taught me all her stalking techniques.
My/ your sock book is arriving tomorrow. I am so excited. Everybody has stopped raving about what this sock book did for them, but I will start tomorrow. I have 2 balls of sock yarn waiting. The Lucies are also lovely, and I want to knit the sock one. But I am a slow kntter and I don’t know when this will be finished. Actually that’s not quite true – I have so many projects on the needle that everything only gets a small amount of time dedicated to them so every article stays on the needle a long time.
Hmmm — I have a brother in D.C. Why didn’t I use that as a reason (excuse) to attend Spring Fling? It looks like a blast. I love the yarn — please enter me in the drawing.

I remember wearing spike heels and the heels slipping through the grates in the sidewalks. My shoe would come off my foot and I’d have to turn around and pull the shoe out of the grate. This was in St. Louis in the 60’s.

I had shoes just like that when I was 18, and I’m not going to say how long ago that was. I used to go dancing in them, and it’s a wonder I never broke my neck! I’m glad you had such a great time away, and I’m sure Lucy had just as much fun alone with her dad only she’s not saying.

Hoo boy, my feet start to cramp just looking at those shoes. But you’re styling!
Ditto on the gauge discussion. I use US 00/1.75mm to get 7.5 stitches per inch, and I can’t seem to choke it down any tighter. But then, I do knit to relax! So with a longer pattern repeat I can only manage about four total and I have to fill in with knits or purls on the sides.

Wow, the fling must have been a lot of fun! As someone who is 5′8.5 already I really don’t need shows like that, but I love them anyway! It is pretty fun to be over six feet tall

A few weeks ago I pulled my wedding heels out of the closet and tried them on. I was able, with tremendous effort, to stand perfectly still in them. No wonder I changed shoes immediately after the ceremony.
Sounds like a fabulous weekend. I spent it quietly at home knitting the pink socks I started at the Knit Happens signing.

That looks like it was fun. I’m knitting your Waterfall Socks pattern in Tofutsies, my first toe-up. Confused the heck outta me (wrap and turn? Why do I decrease here? Oh my head) at first but I got it. My only hope is that I don’t mess up the bind-off and make it too tight to go over my foot.
