Hello Cupcake

Check out this lovely book:

book070809 202x240 Hello Cupcake

This is Martha Stewart’s Cupcakes: 175 Inspired Ideas for Everyone’s Favorite Treat, published by Clarkson Potter on June 2, 2009. I was lucky enough to receive a review copy.

This is 352 pages of delicious recipes, good advice, step-by-step how-tos, and glorious photo-styling.

Don’t these look yummy?

And you gotta love a dinosaur cupcake!

The step-by-step techniques are meticulously illustrated:

There are even templates and clipart for cupcake toppers!

When I got this book for review, I was overwhelmed with greed and thought about keeping it for myself. But given that I can’t remember the last time I made cupcakes, and have no plans to make them in the foreseeable future, I’ll pass this book along to one of you.

If you’d like to be entered in the drawing to receive my copy of this gorgeous book, leave a comment to this blog post. On Sunday July 12 around noon Eastern time, the Random Number Generator will pick a winner.

Me? I’m still shawl knitting.

OH, and I bought your sock book today, and about $100 worth of beautiful sock yarn that I don’t technically need but the wonderful sales lady at Bobbin’s Nest reminded me that even if I spend so much money on yarn and books that I’m homeless, at least I’ll be warm ๐Ÿ™‚

I keep looking at it and wanting to make it, but can’t think what to do with it. I don’t have anywhere fancy to wear one… but I really want to!

    Mmmmm…cupcakes! Who dosen’t love a baking adventure.

  63. Well, my first love was baking before knitting, I have to confess. I kinda thought you couldn’t eat and knit at the same time and keeping my fingers busy with yarn would help my waistline but that hasn’t happened. Oh well, I still think it slows the progress somewhat. I saw some of these cupcakes on the Martha Stewart website when a friend sent me the link and just drooled over the photos so I know what you are going through.
I would gladly rest my needles for an evening or two to try out these recipes to the joy of my teenaged daughter who will not let me knit her anything but loves cake.

  64. mmm… cupcakes… I shouldn’t be eating them but I know a couple of boys around here that would love some!
