My current work in progress:

1. Summer Solstice Mystery Shawl KAL, my design. Official knit-along in June!
2. Myriad stealth projects.

Edgy

I’ve been on edge this weekend.

On the edge of my shawl, that is. At this point I’ve got almost two-thirds of the edging done.

I put the shawl down on the floor for a photo-op.

Lucy immediately went into spokesmodel mode. She wanted to demonstrate the size of the knitted piece for you.

She also spent a few minutes inspecting my work.

So the rest of today will be spent in edging-knitting, laundry, and other various household tasks. Oh, and I will start my next project.

I wound the yarn yesterday:

Isn’t it lovely?

I will likely not finish the Order to Chaos Shawl edging today, because I need to get this next project started so it is in a state where I can take it for commuter knitting tomorrow. And once I get started, I’m not going to want to put it down.

We’ll see.

What’s this new yarn you just wound up? It’s a beautiful colour!

Wow the shawl and the new yarn both look wonderful. I haven’t knitted in a month, i am having withdrawl. Maybe today I’ll get inspired to start something.

I wonder if Lucy can work as blocking wires. If so, I have 7 I can put into good use.

I just realized that you’re going to be in Minneapolis next weekend – the weekend of the Uptown, Loring Park, and Powderhorn Park Art Fairs. What that means is that it’s rather challenging to get from Uptown to Needlework Unlimited (or anywhere, really). On the plus side, if you stay where you stayed last time, you’ll be able to walk over to the Loring Park Art Fair!

  7. Amelia says:

I am glad that I am not the only one to sort out tomorrow’s knitting… I am sat here desperately trying to work out what pattern I want to knit with my Hazel Knits Artisan Sock yarn so that I have something to knit on the bus tomorrow :) x

  8. Michelle says:

I’m loving Order to Chaos – I hope you’ll be making the pattern available!

  9. Nancy says:

Isn’t is amazing how projects get very greedy for your time and insist you work on only them?

    Love the pink!!

  11. Iola says:

    I also love the pink!!!

  12. Edna says:

Is the red yarn for another shawl?

    No Lucy sez today? :(

  14. Tiffany says:

Order to Chaos looks great!! Do you think it would work with lace weight double stranded?

  15. New project yarn is yummy color.

  16. mwknitter says:

I love, love, love that yarn – pink seems an inadequate name for it – I like the raspberries, strawberries description but a little something else in there too (that old folk song by [I think] the Kingston Trio keeps going through my head: raspberries, strawberries, good wine we brew – here’s to the girls of the countryside, the ones we drink them to.). Please tell us what it is. Your shawl is lovely & Lucy looks like she takes her job of knitting inspector very seriously.

  17. Ooohh, pink yarn. Lucy is a very trustworthy kitty to be allowed to walk on your shawl.

  18. Sandra D says:

Super model indeed! The feline knows her stuff! Love the green shawl. I’m not so much into pink, but this new yarn sort of transcends pink and it’s lovely.

  19. Caroline says:

Ooh, I just love the red/orange/pink yarn. And I really, really love when you start a new stealth project, ’cause the revelation is always so exciting and inspiring!

  20. Candi says:

That shawl is stunning! I can’t wait for you to release it for purchase. As always, I think it is imensely improved by the addition of you spokesmodel. Such a beautiful princess.

  21. Pam Grushkin says:

Doesn’t it make you nervous when Lucy lies on the shawl? She doesn’t pull the sts or anything? I found my lab once resting on a blocking lace shawl and nearly freaked (well, I was freaking on the inside). I picked up his paws and wiggled him off! I enjoy the Lucy commentaries.

  22. Crasty says:

I really like your blog and i respect your work. I’ll be a frequent visitor.

  23. Seanna Lea says:

I love your shawl. I’m envious that Lucy doesn’t snag your knitting. My kitty tries to eat it and otherwise beat it up (I have 1400 yards of laceweight that I’m still trying to untangle).

  24. Betty says:

ooh, that color is just gorgeous, looks like something delectibly edible.

  25. Patti says:

Neat swift! I love watching it WHIRRRRRRL around… what kind is it?
