My current work in progress:

1. Thistle and Heather Socks (my own design), knit from MacKintosh Iona in the "Maude" colorway, on 2mm needles.
2. Myriad stealth projects.

Quickie

I’m just popping in to announce the winners in the “suggest music for Wendy’s iPod” contest. They are: Katherine, Melia, April, Gail Lucille, and Tonya. Congratulations to you five and thank you for everyone who suggested songs in the comments. The winners have been emailed, and each win the WendyKnits pattern of their choice.

I arrived home at 9:00 last night from my weekend in Manhattan. This morning was devoted to a lot of errands, and since returning home and finishing the laundry, I’ve done nothing but lie on the couch. Ah, the joys of getting older.

I’ll be back tomorrow. Hopefully coherent. But I’m not making any promises.

Here is a sign that autumn is coming:

slightly off-topic, but speaking of Lucy, was she the inspiration for the cat named Lucy in the book Casting Spells? It can’t be a coincidence!

  2. Hannah

Hi, my little doggies are already lounging on their cozy blankies too.

  3. Karen

I notice that there are lots of balls of yarn in close proximity to Lucy. I also have a cat named Lucy (purely coincidental, even though Lucy would clearly be a wonderful namesake). If I did something that like that, my Lucy would be all over that yarn like stink on a monkey. Seriously. Yarn must be stored in closets, strong bags with zippers, or high on shelves (she hasn’t yet figured out how to climb them, but she has knocked off a lot of stuff trying mighty hard).

Yes getting older is so much fun but it does have some rewards.

I don’t know how you manage it. If I traveled as much as you do for teaching, I would never want to wake up!

Isn’t it wonderful how willing cats are to share in your need for a nap. No matter what time of day or how busy they may be grooming themselves they just plop right down and get into the full spirit of the thing.

  12. Malia

I love lounging on the couch, esp with Yarn in hands.

Um, I was wondering if there might have been a typo in the winner’s name Melia. I searched the comments and couldn’t find anyone with that name. I checked my mail and nothing.

So~ What are the five song? Inquiring ears want to know :)
