Lack of Knitting Content

There has been a decided lack of current knitting progress here lately, have you noticed? That’s because I’ve been doing some stealth knitting this week.

I did start my second Diamond Lace sock — see?

That’s what it looked like on Sunday, and that’s what it looks like today. But I ought to be able to return to it later today.

In other news, my car had an important milestone today.

And I visited the eye doctor this morning and my eyes are still dilated. Makes it difficult to blog, so I’ll sign off with a photo of Miss Lucy:

She is obviously thinking about turkey.

Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow to everyone who celebrates!

I love looking at your sock pictures! I have my first sock on the needles right now, but it is going slowly. In your opinion is it easier to knit socks from the toe up?

  2. Seanna Lea

Gah. I hate having my eyes dilated. The first time I was going to the New England School of Optometry (lower rates, because they are students supervised by an optometrist) the person dilating my eyes put in too much solution and I was still dilated the next morning. Now I go to a doctor who has a machine that takes a photo of your eye. It replaces both the really annoying puff test and dilation. Yippee!

Thanks to you, Wendy, for sharing your knitting and life with us! Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving and a special piece of turkey for Miss Lucy!

  4. patricia

I’m with Lucy and dreaming of turkey too!

A good Thanksgiving to Wendy and Lucy and assorted friends and family!

Thanks for all the blogging- with and without knit content.

  5. Barbara-Kay

Happy Thanksgiving to you, KOARC, and Miss Lucy. You’ll be sharing the turkey all around, eh? (Lucy said I should ask on her behalf.)

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving! Looking forward to finding out what the stealth project is……….could it be another book?

  7. Hannah

Hope your eyes regain their focus! A blessed Thanksgiving to you and yours.

  8. Cyndy

I read your blog nearly every night,Wendy, but have never commented – thanks for keeping us all inspired and amused, we are all thankful for you!

  9. LaLa

Yay for stealth projects! Happy Thanksgiving!

  10. Cathie Jones

I, too, am thankful for Wendy, the blog, and especially the Toe-Up book. My feet would never have felt hand-knitted socks if they had to be made top-down with dpns. Happy Thankgiving everyone!

  11. Grace

Guess what? I am totally commenting from my new droid! And I am loving it!!!! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I hope your eyes feel better soon.

A happy Thanksgiving to all in your life, furry or not. I do miss having a cat on Thanksgiving, checking the kitchen often to see if he was up on the table or counter, doing something he shouldn’t. We weren’t so innocent as to leave the turkey out, but he could still make mischief. I’m sure Lucy is better behaved.

Happy Thanksgiving. I love your blog and yur toe up socks.

    Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

    2000 Accord, 189,000+ miles

Prior to the purchase of that car, I had a 5 minute commute. Downsized. Went to a 45 minute commute, and has been roughly there ever since, through 3 other employers.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Query: How does the eye doctor expect us to knit when our eyes are so terribly dilated? How can he/she expect socks for Christmas when we can’t see worth diddly to work that intricate pattern that so fits them? Will they EVER learn??? LOL

Actually, I know how you feel. Had a small tear in the retina and had TWO appts. in 3 days with dilation at each appointment. YIKES! I had withdrawals from my knitting!

Happy Thanksgiving to both you and Lucy!

Ah, something else I can be thankful for: pupils large enough that I’ve never had to have them dilated (since I became an adult, anyway).

Love the diamond pattern on those toes. And the sweet picture of Lucy.

    Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Impressive that you had safety in mind and stopped the car before taking your odometer picture! Happy milestone to your car!
