My current work in progress:

1. Wispy Cardi, by Hannah Fettig, knit in Tempted Lovely Grrl in the "Renewal" colorway, on a U.S. 5 (3.75mm) needle.
2. Myriad stealth projects.

Aftermath

I hope you all had a great holiday. Lucy and I did! Even my little Droid got a present:

Droid122709 240x160 Aftermath

A cellphone beanbag chair!

Here is Lucy’s favorite new toy:

TearStrip1227091 240x147 Aftermath

A tear strip from a box. Gotta love kitties!

Right before Christmas I put my Talisman Shawl pattern up for sale on Ravelry for $5.00 for a pdf download. Here is the direct link.

TalismanModeled122309 164x240 Aftermath

And I finished Ishbel. Here it is on Gwendolyn, shown draped over the Talisman Shawl, which is draped over my Exonumist’s Shawl:

A close-up:

And a floor shot:

I knit the larger size and used Dragonfly Fibers Dragon Sock in the Green Riptide colorway, on a U.S. 6 needle. It used about 1.5 skeins of the yarn. I didn’t wet-block it — just steamed it with my trusty steam-iron.

And I started something new.

Can you guess what it is?

Lucy sez:

“Now where is my tear-strip?”

All three shawls look absolutely gorgeous piled on top of each other :-)

I can tell from the picture, it’s an Evelyn Clark shawl, just which one, I can’t tell, too little done (the corner of the picture gave me that much info, lol)

Ah those tearstrips are worth their weight in gold! The Meezer can vouch for that!
    (Beautiful shawls, Wendy!!!)

The shawls are all gorgeous! I’m almost to the lace part of the small Ishbel. Does Lucy like plastic milk tops? I had a kitty once that would fetch them!!

Do find the strip and give it back to Lucy or you may not sleep tonight.
That cute little beanbag can an Outlander by it online? Know of some adult children who would need a cushion for their phones instead of having them lying around in places were they easily drop on the floor and of course, cease to work. Happy Holidays Wendy!

Christmas was wonderful!! All the kitties, ferrets and the mouse loved there gifts. I give the ferrets a box and they are in heaven!!! Not to mention they all had their fill of Christmas dinner. Kitties and ferrets had plenty of turkey and Bitsy the mouse had veggies. So happy you had a great one at your house too.

Sorry, not much of a comment, but hey! thats a great mug in the first photo! :o )

  7. Frances

I love your Ishbel! That base of yarn is fantastic to work with.
My guess is a pretty pink Swallowtail shawl (but I admit to recognizing the chart page).

  8. Hannah

Please don’t forget the shawlette pattern (it doesn’t have to have a name). Lucy looks very elegant in that photo.

  9. Meredith

Ishbel is beautiful! Dang, you’re fast! And I love the beanbag — adorable!!

Oooh that little phone beanbag chair doesn’t happen to have a charger connection iin it does it?

Have you come across any knitting apps for the droid yet? I just got one, but still have my iPod Touch too with the ‘important’ apps on it!

Nikki enjoyed opening his present (annual knittted catnip mouse) almost as much as he’s enjoying the mouse itself! God Jul!

Shetland Triangle? It’s certainly an Evelyn Clark design, unless you deliberately put it on top of one to throw us off…lol.

  14. Linda

OH, my Boogalu LOVES those zip tops…you can hear her meoooowing late at night and chasing it around the kitchen floor!
Beautiful shawls, still waiting on Santa to find me and deliver my wish list items for a lace shawl.

How do you use a photo in place of the little monsteroid icon?

Our Cat, Nala’s Favorite present was the DVD Box. She gets into it and thinks she is invisable. I knew you would finish the Ishbel by Christmas…you are such a fast knitter. Is your new project Evelyn’s Clarke’s Swalotail?

    Hey Wendy

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Thank you for the every day commentary on Knitting. I do look forward to your thoughts and wisdom on knitting. I am looking foward to the new year and your new creations.

  19. Marion

You are so fast (knitting) it is mind boggling! I don’t think I’ve ever typed “mind boggling” before. Beautiful shawls.

  20. Gail

Beautiful Ishbel! And I’m guessing the new pink creation is a shawl.

  21. Seanna Lea

Saru-chan likes the tear strips, but not as much as the little pieces of plastic from milk jugs. Silly kitties are so easy to entertain.

I’m with the others: pink thing is a shawl, but your own pattern or someone else’s?

I think the pink will be a new scarf. A new pattern for you…… Loved the shawls, As usual, beautiful work. Happy New Year.

My kittens favorite toy is a cheerio….multi-grain of course.

I just love looking for Lucy every day.

  24. Linda

I do love the color of your Swallowtails shawl!
Ms. Lucy is just too cute with that furry tummy, I could tickle tickle tickle it :-) My three just wiggle wiggle when I tickle their much less furry tummys!
Thanks for the help with the monsteroid! So cool!

Ok, I know I am tired. I admit it. And I am up early because I am on call for work. But then I read your line: “Right before Christmas I put my Talisman Shawl pattern up for sale on Ravelry for $5.00 for a pdf download”…..Only I read it as “RIght before Christmas I put my Talisman shawl up for sale….for $5.00″. And I was like – wow! And I missed it???? And that gorgeous shawl for only $5.00????? Is she crazy or what?????

Then I re-read it and realized (as usual) that I was the crazy one…
