Knitting Time

It is interesting that considering I’ve had way more knitting time in the past few days than I usually do, I’ve shown far less knitting on my blog.

The federal government was closed today so I had another day at home. I did go out to the grocery store and post office. That was . . . interesting. Some streets were passable, some not so much. Most public transport systems here were severely curtailed today.

If the government will be open tomorrow, they’ll need to have public transportation up and running, and hopefully have plowed some more streets. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Oh, and there’s another storm supposed to hit us tomorrow afternoon that the weather people are predicting will dump 10 – 20 inches on us. Hard to believe!

I did finish the first of my Manly Aran socks:

I’m plugging away on the second sock.

And I started something else lacy . . .

In other news, I think Lucy is good and sick of having me at home.

I’ve not seen anything evil yet….so what’s on the horizon, huh?

  2. NJJK

say it isnt so…Lucy couldnt possibly be sick of momma being home…love the color of the new project…

  3. Virginia

I like red. I like lacy! Can’t wait to see the finished product.

You are a knitting machine. I’m completely amazed at how quickly you finish projects.

How do you do it so quickly?

But she will miss you like crazy and demand to know where you have been when you do return to work!! Mine give me that look all the time and then are all over me wanting attention as if they had been left for days!! Ah the wonders of the feline mind!!!
Keep warm and safe. It does sound forboding when you say the US goverment shut down for the day…………………..

  5. patricia

Perhaps you’re interferring with Lucy’s quality nap time!

  6. Earin

That is hard to believe. Cats always love to have you home. Warm laps, frequent treats, what’s not to love?

  7. Deb

Love the new “lacy” you shared!!! Maybe Lucy’s just out of sorts from all the snow? It’s blocking her view!

  8. Julie in VA

Love the new lacy project. I think my dog wants me to go back to work too. Four days at home, and I’m ready to be back too. But it looking like another day at home. I tried to get down my street today and feel like I was on a roller coaster with all the ice below!

  9. Gail

Love the red lace! If it does snow 20 more inches post some pics!

  10. Susan

That’s one gorgeous manly sock! Lucy just has the best profile doesn’t she?

Hopefully this storm won’t be like the last. So far we have no wetness of any sort here. It’s evaporating before it hits the ground. I bought a snow shovel Friday and boots yesterday. I will be glad to put them away until next winter. The plus is that I’ve done lots of knitting.

I think Lucy is just pretending and is secretly thrilled to have you there. Enjoy all of your extra knitting time. We’re expecting 8-12″ in Chicago–doesn’t seem like much compared with what you’ve gotten and are expecting.

  13. Seanna Lea

Those are some lovely man socks. A bit smaller and I would happily wear them myself!

Even though no one is at work, I still came in just to get out of the house!! 10 to 20 inches tonight?!!! More knitting time indeed!

  15. Michele In Maine

I’m sure Lucy’s nap schedule is all cattywumpus! Enjoy the restful days!

I adopted my new black kitten, Maggie, from the MSPCA in Boston. She had been turned in to the shelter because, with her previous famly, she was left alone all day and was very lonely.

So she got a new mom who is retired and is home all the time! I think Maggie may find this a mixed blessing…

I’m sure Lucy loves it when you’re home!

  17. Knitting Out Loud

Good luck with all the snow. We hear it’s a blizzard down there! At least it’s good knitting weather….
