Busy Day

Although today was a federal holiday, we’ve had a busy day.

This morning Miss Lucy had her annual check-up and shots (ouchies!) — the vet said she is in great health.

And this afternoon I spent a few hours over at fibre space hanging out with a lot of fun knitters. There might have been some stash enhancement too.

My three shawlettes, Argus, Seaside, and Miss Woodhouse, had so much fun that they are going to stay in the shop for a while. So if you didn’t have a chance to stop by and see them today, they’ll be in the shop for a while. And you can purchase the patterns there as well.

Here is an Argus knit by Beth, in a heavier yarn on a larger needle.

It makes a nice larger shawl, I think!

How if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go relax.

Lucy sez:

“I was a good girl at the vet’s today!.”

I love love love Fibre Space! I went there when I was visiting DC with my mom in August. I came home with some stash and I would love to go back again!

  2. I had hoped to come by, but today is one of the few days in the last 10!! I have had a chance to work INSIDE my house. I am working on a Seaside to take with me to the beach in April.

  3. I hope that Lucy received a suitable reward for such excellent behavior – perhaps we should petition Ben and Jerry to create a tuna and catnip flavor????

  4. Clancy had her annual check up today and doing well for an old beagle!
Lucy, cross your paws for Rose’s visit tomorrow! Molly has been telling Rose she’s getting shot at the vet and Rose is not amused!

  5. I have a friend who lives close to where you were and I am going to check and see if she got in to see you. Otherwise I am going to send this blog to her for future reference.
Poor lucy having to get shots right after a birthday. What a sweety though. Sich a lovely girl!

  6. It was so much fun to visit with you today. Your shawlettes are so pretty in person! I’m glad I got a copy of each pattern, they will work wonderfully with my handspun yarn. Thank you for the Lucy magnet and for signing my copy of “Socks from the Toe Up”.

  7. A belated Happy Birthday to Lucy!

  8. Lucy, you are always a good girl and Happy Belated birthday too!

    The shawls are beautiful!

  9. If retirement just paid a bit better, I’d hop a plane to get to one of your shop visits!

Lucy is such a beauty. Betty Grable would have been jealous of Lucy’s legs!!

  10. Such a pretty girl! Lucy, you don’t look a bit older! Belated birthday wishes!

  11. Looks like a pretty store to visit! I will be sure to keep it in mind if I am ever in the DC area. Good girl Lucy!!!

  12. Thanks for putting my Argus on the blog! After you left fibre space today, another knitter asked if she could borrow it to wear at a formal event this weekend. I hope there are pictures of that too.

And happy birthday to that precious kitty.

Glad you had a great day! Wish Nevada was a little closer to DC. :) I just started Seaside with some of my handspun yarn and I am loving the pattern. Thank you for writing clear, easy to follow instructions. Seaside is a pleasure to knit. I can’t wait to finish! Cheers!

  16. Oh Lucy, you pretty “thang” … I missed your birthday. Happy birthday to you, scratch, scratch (between the ears and under the chin).

I enjoy your site tremendously and look forward to going to Fiber Space as I, too, live in the DC area. But I have to ask… what is a KOARC (I’m assuming it’s a guy of some sort)?

  18. Good news about Lucy’s health! I’m glad she was a good girl too. One of my four cats is a tiny 7-pound fluff ball, but she has taken the vet apart with her claws! Definitely NOT a good girl!

  19. High marks for good behavior, Lucy! And happy birthday!

Wish I could have made it to Fibre Space – my sister might have been there, though. It looks like a wonderful LYS!
