My current work in progress:

1. Segel, designed by Lea Viktoria, knit from Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply Toes in the "Draco" gradient set on a 3.5 mm (U.S. size 4) needle.
2. Myriad stealth projects.

And Now for the Stole

I mentioned last week that when I finished the Chevron Shawlette, I was going to knit a Chevron Stole using the same stitch motifs.

I have started said stole and here it is.

This is more Madelinetosh Tosh Sock yarn, this in the “logwood” colorway. The stole will take more yarn than the shawlette, so I bought two skeins. But it is great fun to knit. The rows seem to zip by quickly because they are not growing. They are all x number of stitches, so I know exactly how long each row will take me. I find that somehow comforting.

And Check This Out

I did a guest post for the Potter Craft “Crafter News” blog that is posted today. Check it out here. And as a bonus, you can download a pattern for Bouquet Socks, one of the designs from my upcoming book!

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Lucy hasn’t murdered any more of her toys.

She looks very ladylike, doesn’t she?

Comments

  1. Lucy looks remorseful. I hope the mousie tail can be reattached!!

I sure do love that Logwood colorway. Don’t think I could do a stole, though. My attention span is so short, I do much better with small, fast projects — like socks and shawlettes!!

  2. Thank you for sharing your Bouquet Sock pattern with us. There are so many beautiful socks in your new book, I look forward to seeing all of them.

  3. you are getting some serious knitting done … I so have to get myself organised.

  4. The pattern link on you guest post isn’t behaving.

Love the color of the new stole

  5. The stole looks lovely! I look forward to that pattern… it looks like something I’d enjoy both making and wearing.
    .-= Nicole´s last blog ..Hiya, March! =-.

  6. I am on the last chart of your seaside shawl. I have been working with a pink JoJoland cashmere I found at Stitches East a few years ago. I was really planning to make it for myself. I am reconsidering.

A little (I mean tiny and frail) lady from my church just lost her husband of 70 (no typo!). I am seriously considering giving this shawl to her as a prayer shawl. She can’t see, and now has someone living with her around the clock. She is 95 years old and the sweetest thing. I just think this was meant for her.

It is hard to believe Lucy, looking so poised and genteel in this latest photo, has a heartless shadow side.

Loving the stole. Loving the color.

Now to go find the pattern…

  8. Kathie Brownlee says:

Thank you for the pattern. I’ve not knitted any socks yet so they won’t exatly be my first pair but….

Also, thank you for leaving the mistake and some kitty fur, all my projects are like that and I tell people, “that’s what makes them special”.

Finally, thank you for the pic or Lucy sitting on your legs whiile you knit…of course Kibby does the same thing, he can sit on me for hours when I’m knitting. I’ll have to get a pic for you and you will see how alike these two really are. So funny, Every time I see Lucy I think Kibby.

  9. Oh, you know how I love stoles! I´m so greatful that you´ve made another one.
This one will be gorgeous. Second only to the True Love stole.

  10. Thanks for the awesome pattern!!! Your ability to crank out the WIPs into FOs constantly amazes me, but I guess Lucy would also want some of the credit! Thanks again!

  11. The more I see of that yarn, the more I like it. It may be something I need to add to the stash.

  12. I guess I’m ignorant, but I don’t see where to download or print the Bouquet Sock Pattern

  13. Lucy looks like she is wearing a beautiful fur cowl (or is that a furry muff for her paws). So comfortable!

I LOVE the color of the yarn you are using for the stole!

The article is really neat . . . I often make a few mistakes in my sock knitting, but hey! That is part of the homemade goodness of the item! ;)

I am glad that Lucy is not killing any more of her toys . . .
