My current work in progress:

1. pour moi, designed by Lori Versaci, knit from Wollmeise Merino DK in the "Stella Polaris" colorway on a 3.75 mm (U.S. size 5) needle.
2. Outlander MKAL Shawl, designed by Rachel Rodin, knit from Lornas Laces Shepherd Sport in the "Beauchamps" and "Fraser" colorways on a 3.75 mm (U.S. size 5) needle.
3. Myriad stealth projects.

Done

I did indeed finish CeCe on Saturday night. This required a marathon knit session on Saturday, but I was on a mission.

Here is CeCe in its unblocked state.

And the back.

A close-up of where I sewed the neckband onto the back of the neck:

I just did an overcast stitch on the wrong side to attach it.

I decided to wet-block CeCe. So here it is, all laid out nice and flat.

Wonder how long it will take to dry?

I used around 4.5 skeins of Rowan Calmer on a size 7 needles and made the 42″ size. It’s about 23″ long from back of the neck to the hem.

So, on to the next project.

And Lucy is still showing off her profile:

Wow, this is lovely! Is Cece a present for you or someone else? I love the look of knitted lace, but I never seem to get around to trying it. Perhaps I will soon. Have fun & hug Lucy for me.

  2. Beautiful! Love the color.

Oh Wendy, you are such an enabler! I just happen to have about 6 skeins of Calmer in a lavender shade, and it would look so pretty done up as CeCe. And eating cleaner I lost 21 pounds so I can wear a smaller size sweater (actually had to buy new jeans one size smaller than the one’s I couldn’t get into last summer and are now too big, so thanks for the eating encouragement too). Wendy, you rock! And Lucy looks beautiful in profile.

  6. Lovely! I agree with others, the color works very well.

  7. I really, really want a CeCe now. Never wanted one before. Now I do. And it must be made of Calmer because yours is. It looks great!

  8. love cece. you did a beautiful job. Tell Lucy that she has a perfect profile and that she has a large following who check out her section of the blog daily. She contributes a very important part and I look forward to it when I read your e-mails. thanks for the pics of your finished work.

  9. OOOH, it’s lovely! Maybe I will have to work on my CeCe today, instead of reading knitblogs and *saying* I will, lik yesterday. I didn’t know there would be sewing involved at the end, though :( That would be the drawback to buying a pattern online though.

  10. HA. I knew you would finish it. There was no way you were going to come close to the end and not finish it even it you had to stay up late to do it. It looks beautiful.

  11. Speedy finish and beautiful sweater. I just ripped several rows and spent a couple of hours getting all the stitches back in order on mine… not looking like a Sunday finish for me :(

Simply gorgeous! I’m not a short-sleeved sweater person, but in this case…….

  16. Love it, I couldn’t wait to see what it would look like. Now I know.

  25. CeCe is quite pretty, and of course professional looking as all of your pieces are. I haven’t knit anything with Rowan’s Calmer yet, but have yearned to. I miss you and Lucy, because of my own absence, not yours.

    Hope all is well.

    Best,

CeCe is a pretty girl! Not as gorgeous as Lucy, but who is?

  28. Leslie F says:

Gorgeous! Makes me want to make one too!

  29. CeCe is beautiful. Will you have directions for long sleeves in the pattern too?

Wendy, you have inspired my husband and me to be clean eaters. We had a little trouble getting started because we were on vacation when we made our decision. Looking forward to feeling healthier and having more zip … and using less yarn to knit for myself.

My first pair of socks was two socks on one circ Magic Loop method. I found it confusing and the socks didn’t fit well. My second pair was toe up following the directions in your book and they fit perfectly. I love knitting toe-up socks! This summer I will be making a huge dent in my sock yarn stash.

I get your daily emails and I’m so glad. You always show me new things. I had never heard of Knitcircus. Really cool online mag. Hope I win the patterns. If not, my kitties and I have fun looking in on you and Lucy.

    Thank you!

  30. CeCe is beautiful. But I really love the turquoise color on the cover of the Circusknits summer patterns.

  31. Celeste Nossiter says:

Yes, please enter me in the random blog contest for KnitCircus. By the way, I love your new lacy cotton top! thanks.

  32. Sandra Hager says:

I just found your site! Love it! I love knitting presents, some of my “Sandy Sweaters” have made it to the next generation. My knitted socks never make it to another wearer. I felt like a success when a little buddy ( 5 year old boy) asked for a special multicolor sweater – so he could always have turns in gym when the teacher called certain colors!
Thanks for your care, it shows in your pictures and explanations.

  33. Looks like your Ty Dy is coming right along! I’m off now to check out your article in Knit Circus….

  34. Just purchased Melissa Leapman’s Color Knitting the Easy Way based on your comments. Lots of very useful information. I’ve never used Rowan’s Calmer and would love to give it a try. I really enjoy receiving your nearly daily emails — such fun and an inspiration to knit every day.

  35. Love short-sleeved sweaters, and this one is just gorgeous. I feel a yarn trip is looming in the near future.

  36. KnitMom says:

Wendy, you are amazing! I love you’re blog and I love your patterns. You are so talented and such a quick knitter. How do you do it and hold down a full-time job?
