My current work in progress:

1. Drachenfels, designed by Melanie Berg, knit from Madelintosh Pashmina in the Black Walnut, Seasalt, and Mineral colorways on a 4 mm (U.S. size 6) needle.
2. Myriad stealth projects.

Lots of Progress

I’ve made a lot of progress on my Victoria cardigan over the weekend.

I finished the side fronts.

And the first sleeve is now blocking.

Clean Eating

Thanks for all your nice comments about my clean eating success. A lot of you asked a lot of questions about what clean eating is. If you google clean eating, you’ll find lots of resources. Here’s a website to get you started. I first started clean eating at the beginning of December and mentioned it in my blog then, so if you go back through my archives for last December, you’ll find more info there as well.

Got to get back to the second sleeve. As you can see, Lucy is helping me with it.

  1. Can’t wait to see the completed Victoria. I love all that Moss stitch! Will check out clean eating, since crappy eating hasn’t worked out the way I hoped. LOL!

  2. I’ve been watching your progress on this but had never looked at the pattern. I guess when I saw the moss stitch I did a mental “I don’t think so.” Today I looked at the pattern and am printing it out as we speak. Moss stitch or no…I will be knitting this sweater. (I love the fabric that moss stitch makes but find knitting it tedious.) I think the end result be worth it. I’ll be making mine from Cascade 220 in a heathered purple. I had a debate with myself here this week on pattern for this yarn. Even took it to LYS and asked which sweater I should make. Obviously I wasn’t sold on the answer. So thank you for resolving that debate. ;-)

Lucy is doing an excellent job of quality-checking your second sleeve. It looks pretty far along, too!

  4. I love how Lucy scrunches herself up so as to completely fit on the sleeve. Maybe a couple of extra inches of width next time? Though with the clean eating, you may end up having fewer inches’ width to the sleeve — what will Lucy do?

  5. your cardigan is going to be beautiful :)
… thanks for the link … clean eating looks great :)

  6. Lucy looks like an enthusiastic helper. Sort of.

I see that you’re blocking as you go. It’s never occurred to me to do that; I’m a bit laissez-faire about blocking, until I get to the bitter end. Thanks for a new idea.

  7. The cardi is looking great. Can’t wait to see it all put together, which at your present rate of progress should not be long at all!

I was in St. Louis last week and dropped by The Loopy Ewe. What a great bunch of gals. I picked up your Woodland Walk pattern and some Malabrigo sock yarn to make it out of. It is my favorite of your shawls so far. I’m not a big lace knitter and don’t like lace weight yarn AT ALL. I don’t have (don’t take) the time that you do to knit relentlessly so it may take me a while but I’ll let you know how it finally turns out. :-)

  8. Lucy is leaving her cat fur imprimatur!

Congrats again on the weight loss and the health gain! It is inspiring, not to mention a reminder that I need to get back to proper eating – the bad habits sneak up!

  9. Lucy is helping to hold down part of the sweater so it doesn’t get away. She is your “helper” kitty!

  10. Your sweater is coming along nicely. I see that Lucy does what my Barney does. Cats love to help with the handmade projects. Mine also lends a helping paw to my quilting as well.

    Cuteness citation issued.

Lucy is too cute for words with your sleeve,

  12. Clean eating does seem awfully effective, but I am still trying to get my mind around not eating sweets or at least not sweets the way I’m used to them.
.-= Seanna Lea´s last blog ..almost too hot to knit =-.

  13. Centimers? Do you have a good/accurate site or measurement for conversion? Otherwise – I should be dead!

  14. Lucy is such a big help! I think she is pre-blocking that sleeve! Kudos to you on the clean eating. Seems like it would take a lot of planning to make such big changes. I’m sure you must be so much healthier for it.

  15. Your picture of Lucy today reminds me of my kitty, Penelope. She’s never had a real interest in sitting on my knitting but any time I pull out a pattern she wants to sit on the paper. Seeing Lucy on top of both the knitting *and* the pattern gave me a little giggle :)

  16. Thanks for the link. Lucy is just such a sweetie!! I cannot wait to see the cardi finished!!

Lucy is doiong such a good job protecting that sleeve for you.

  18. I’ve purchased 3 of Tosca Reno’s books. But I’ve found out that just reading them doesn’t work. :-)
