My current work in progress:

Corrugated Shawl, designed by Cecelia Campochiaro, knit from Crave Caravan in the Tilly colorway, using U.S. size 4 needles.

Weekend Update

It’s a beautiful Sunday here in the D.C. area — cool, breezy, and sunny. It’s nice to have the windows open after a summer of re-circulated air-conditioned air.

I’ve made some progress on my sweater. Here it is on Gwendolyn, minus sleeves.

And a close-up of the neckline:

I’m a couple of inches away from the underarm decreases on the first sleeve, so hopefully I’ll have that completed today. I also need to wind this into a ball:

This is the yarn I’ll be using to knit a hat for Shanti’s Mom’s hats for sailors projects. I want to cast on today so I can have it for commuter knitting this week.

Speaking of this project, Elianastar wrote a great blog entry about it here, complete with suggestions for knit and crochet patterns you can use plus a list of non-knit items you can donate. She, like me, is a former Navy brat, so this project hits home for her as it did for me.

Okay, I gotta go start some laundry (yes, the life of a knitting author is nothing but glamour). And Lucy has already started her Sunday:
