It has been dark and rainy all day.

The lighting is weird, buthere is a Cromarty photo taken without flash:

That’s the front. I’ve started a sleeve.

We’ve had a lovely Christmas here. Lucy got a fun toy from her Daddy.

However, the lure of the wrapping paper proved too much for her.

  1. anne marie in philly says:

steven and meredith say: “meow, cousin lucy, the wrapping paper IS more fun! we got catnip and fuzzy mice from santa cat!”

  2. All of my pets seem to adore the wrapping paper more than any gift. Oh, unless I wrap up a piece of cheese as a gift. That normally takes precedence.

  3. Lucy made me smile. Just like a kid liking the box better than the gift….
    MEOW Lucy ;0)

  4. Lucy, We have the same toy- the best is to stand in the middle and try to spin it with your tail. We got boxes to play with too.

  5. Yes, the cromarty has taken on a whole new color…Hope you had a lovely Xmas and wish the best of New Years for you and all your fans…!

  6. LOL Mine loves bags of any kind. He even tried to force himself into a little purse my dd has and then ended up walking around the house with it around his neck.

  7. I got my older cat one of those, years ago, when he was about a year old. Seemed the coolest cat entertainment center to me, but he acted like I’d set out a bear trap. Gave me the stink eye.

And I was a starving grad student at the time – this had been a pricey purchase.

Cats. Bah. Glad Lucy appreciates hers.

  8. We got a new kitty in November, which had been planned for a while but our previous elderly kitty didn’t quite make it long enough to meet him. Our daughter kept asking for a kitten since all of the cats in our house had been older than she is (17, high school senior). He seems fascinated by trash cans… I had forgotten about that racetrack type toy, I think I’ll have to look for one.

After having had adult cats for so long, you forget how kittens are. We got one of those pop-open cubes and if you toss a toy into it he dives in and rolls the whole thing around the floor. Plus our last cat was really tiny, and he already weighs more than she did for the last 5 years. The bottom third of the tree is now undecorated – he started it and we moved everything up.

  9. I have a great picture of my dad’s last cat with just her head sticking out of some wrapping paper that I had slipped off a package. She had crawled all the way in, turned around and peeked out like she was in a cage. Cats are so entertaining! I love the pictures of Lucy.

  10. But Mo-om….you know I loves the pretty paper bestest!

  11. Hope you had a lovely Christmas and are enjoying your break from work. Santa brought me your lace book. Good old Santa! I deliberately did not try to see contents before so I have enjoyed leisurely going through it and trying to decide which to start first. There are some lovely designs!
