My current work in progress:

2. Myriad stealth projects.

It’s a Secret

First of all, congratulations to WordLily, who is the winner of the giveaway of 60 Quick Baby Blankets: Cute & Cuddly Knits in 220 Superwash® and 128 Superwash® from Cascade Yarns.

Thank you for all the lovely comments about my Rainbow Wrap. I do plan to write up the pattern when I get a chance. I’ve had a busy few days, so no chance to do so.

I have no knitting project to show you. I am working on something but it cannot be revealed. It may or may not be the prototype for a Summer Mystery Shawl.

Instead, I’ll show you what Lucy did all day. I work at home on Wednesdays, so I am able to see what she is up to.

First, she took an after-breakfast nap in her kitty bed.

Then she decided to watch a little tv.

Then she collapsed in front of the book case, clearly worn out from the intellectual strain of television.

But as soon as she felt strong enough, she got back in her kitty bed.

And ended the workday in her rocking chair!

It’s a tough life.

Comments

  1. Wow, that cat has a rough life. I’m surprised that no one’s called the Humane Society on you. :-p

  2. Yay, I’m so excited! :)

  3. I’m worn out just looking at pictures of her activity!

  4. I want to come back as a cat and live at your house.

  5. Poor Lucy, she is so abused and overworked.
    Hey, how’s Teddy?

  6. We joke around here that kitty is shooting off emails to the ASPCA whenever things don’t go her way. “Dear ASPCA, I am in the care of the most terrible humans. Today breakfast was 5 minutes late.”

    I vote for “may be”.

  7. Wow, a new Summer Mystery Shawl would be so fun! I hope that’s what it is! It looks like Lucy had a very trying day. She sure stretched out in front of the television though!

  8. I’m thanking you in advance for writing up your fabulous wrap pattern. I love, love, LOVE it!!!! I love it so much that I don’t even care how much you charge for the pattern. . . . .

  9. Natalie Doyle-Hennin says:

Wendy, that wrap is gorgeous and even more beautiful on Gwendolyn.

I see Lucy gets some variety in her days. I couldn’t help but notice she ended the day in her rocking chair where there’s a gorgeous pillow with a kitty on it. Is this your handiwork? Is it an image of Lucy? Please tell us more. (Maybe you’ve already done that, but I missed it…)

    Cheers to all,
    Natalie

  10. I enjoy reading about Lucy almost as much as I enjoy your blog. She’s very special.

  11. Great life of a cat, named Lucy…

  12. Cat chores are hard work! Looking forward to the pattern too – it’s just beautiful!

  13. Yay! So excited a out another summer mystery shawl. I really enjoyed last year’s KAL and would love to do another. Kira and Jenny (my furry friends) send out a big hello to Lucy!

  14. Lucy is adorable and has the best life ever! She has a fantastic mama, warm bed, good food and lots of attention. I love hearing about Lucy as much as the knitting projects.

  15. Woo hoo! A mystery KAL will be a lot of fun.

  17. You work her so hard. My kitties had a similar lifestyle with the added time spent on a wide window sill watching the birds outside(very exhausting for the kitties).

  18. As always, I am so looking forward to your Summer Mystery Shawl. Love your patterns, Wendy! Another Pi shawl would be fun. :):)

  19. she really is fabulous! and an inspiration to us all!

It’s a very rough life being the famous Lucy kitty!

I hope you do another Summer Mystery Shawl. The last 2 have been a lot of fun & so pretty.

  21. Keeping my fingers crossed for a summer mystery shawl KAL!

  22. Yes, A very tough life for the little kitty :) So cute!

my 2 little dogs have a similar “rough” life!

  24. My kitty, Stripes, has it just as rough as Lucy. After breakfast, he generally naps on top of the kitchen cabinets. Then he’ll meander his way up to the bedroom to curl up in his kitty bed. Once nap number two is complete, he’ll seek out my lap for snuggling/nap number three. He ends his day with a post-dinner nap on my bed.

I wish my day were so strenuous.

Yay! Another summer mystery KAL! Last summer’s was great and I made two shawls during the month of clues. Well worth the time and loads of fun. Thanks, Wendy, for your time and efforts so that we can all have a good time.

  26. Whenever I’m home all day, I’m amazed at how much my kitties sleep. And frankly, they seem a little annoyed at me when I’m home when I’m not supposed to be – clearly, I’m disturbing them!

  28. who knows what my cats do after I leave – I have to go earn $$ so they can do it, but I don’t get to witness it!! As far as the pattern for the shawl, you should let us know now how much yarn (if you already did, it’s gone from MY brain…) so we can order now, the stockist can restock and those of us who missed getting it now can get it before the pattern comes out. You know you show something lovely and we all want YOUR colorway!! Lovely, lovely work, as usual, by both of you! Rest up Lucy!

  29. Poor Lucy!

  30. My Monday night knitting group has been wndering if you are going to do a summer mystery project this year. My shawlette from two summer’s ago is lovely. We did last summer’s shawl and we were pushed farther than we have been before. The projects look great (although I discovered a large hole in mine near the beginning when I blocked it) and we are looking forward to another one this summer — in case you are wondering if anyone is interedted.
