My current work in progress:

Ottar Hap Shawl, designed by Kate Davies, knit from Buachaille in the Squall, Ptarmigan, and Islay colorways, using a U.S. size 9 (5.5mm) needle.

Afghan Progress

This past Thursday the last square pattern was released in the Rowan Martin Storey Afghan KAL.

I’m very pleased that I managed to keep up with the squares as they were released, though sometimes to the detriment of my “main” work-in-progress.

There are 6 squares each of 8 designs, for a total of 48 squares and as of right now, I just have 4 more of the last square pattern to kit. Then comes the edging.

A couple of weeks ago we got the diagram of which square goes where, so I’ve started some sewing up.

  1. Off topic question: what do you use to daily comb Loki? I’m now the proud owner of an adult Maine Coon cat who needs his daily comb.
    Thanks.

  2. Beautiful afghan, but can Loki stay awake long enough to supervise? 🙂

I love the afghan, the design is very cool. Loki is looking wonderful, as usual. Happy Mother’s Day, celebrating your fur baby.

  4. Love it. Loki is adorable. I’m so glad you include photos of him!!

  5. That is a nice afghan! Usually afghans see kind of *yawn* to me, but this looks visually interesting as well as a fun knit.

Loki is deciding where to apply the fur…

    Beautiful! Love the colors.

  7. I’ve fallen behind on my squares, but plan to get back to them as soon as I finish a major test knit. Love the way yours looks!

I went to the website, logged in, but was unable to find the “layout” directions. Where did you locate them? I’ve kept up until a week ago – so will be able to catch back up pretty quickly once our schedule returns to what we laughingly call “normal” here.

    It is beautiful Wendy.

  10. Gorgeous! I’ve seen some KALs on this but busy couldn’t commit to another project until I finish some of mine. Thank you for sharing yours!
