My current work in progress:

Beadwork, by Jade Starmore, knit from Wendy Guernsey, using 2.75mm needles.

Beadwork Progress

Last week I showed you the back of Beadwork that I had just completed. Here is the left side front:

It looks like I’ve not made much progress since last week, doesn’t it? Psych!

I finished the right side front yesterday. ๐Ÿ˜›

It took me two weeks to complete the back, and a week to finish the right side front. Therefore, I’m hoping to get the left side front done this week so that next Sunday I’ll be starting on a sleeve.

While there is nothing inherently difficult about this pattern, it is extremely labor-intensive. Worked on small needles at a tight gauge, it has patterning up the wazoo, worked on both the right and wrong sides.

That said, I am loving knitting it.

And Loki has been no help at all.

  1. GORRRR-JUSS!! That is sooo beautiful, I just love watching your progress. I have to remind myself to breathe when I look at the patterns you choose. I now look for fast, easy things to knit….I’m 72 now and don’t want anything too labor intensive…I’m NOT a fast knitter.

With winter coming, I’ll be staying in more so I’m lining up projects to work on.
Loki is a lot like my 2 girls…he has to rest up BEFORE doing anything strenuous!!

Knit on, Lauren Kowalczewski….in a cooling down Michigan

Needles 2.75 mm. are what I use for winter socks. I just cannot wrap my head around these tiny needles for a sweater. It is so beautiful. I have patience, but that is a work of art. And I am sorry that Loki is being so irresponsible as to not trying to help. LOL.

  3. That is going to be SO beautiful! I can not fathom how long it would take me to knit that for myself. Between my slow knitting speed, the tiny needles, the tight gauge and my giant body…. Wow! For this sweater, I’m not sure if I’m more impressed with your skills or your patience. ๐Ÿ™‚

The sweater is just exquisite and truly a labor of love. Like the progress. It’s a wonder you got that far, it is so intricate. I’ve got to admire you doing it. Love to Loki !! xo

  5. That is just gorgeous. And my cats are just no help at all either.
