Weekend in Photos

by Wendy on May 25, 2008

Here’s a photo for those of you who were concerned by the lack of chocolate on my kitchen counter.

The cake I was making is a Boston Cream Pie.

And for those of you who were concerned that the yarn on my counter was in danger of having food spilled on it — trust me, not enough actual cooking goes on in my kitchen for this to be much of a danger.

Here’s Teddy, hanging out with a friend.

We went to my brother’s weekend cottage for a barbecue yesterday. Here’s the only photo I took, of the side of his fridge.

You can tell he is a car guy . . .

Lucy stayed home and went mountain climbing.

And I finished the second Six-Pack Sock.

Here’s a close-up:

Tune in tomorrow for some pix of closing up the hole at the top of a heel, and a giveaway to celebrate the unofficial start of summer!

I love Boston Cream Pie. Great mix of flavors. Your latest sock is gorgeous. And Lucy looks so cute at the top of the mountain. Glad you’re having a good holiday weekend. You earned it.

I LOVE these socks. I need to make them.
Hope your weekend is wonderful.

3 L-B 05.25.08 at 2:35 pm

Yikes! You know Lucky gets nervous when he sees Lucy way up there!

Love the Six-Packs! Am I just getting too much time off this weekend or can you also see in that design a girl’s head in her hands with lace sleeves?

Great socks……..gorgeous cake……enjoy both.

That Boston Creme Pie looks delectable! Our kitty went mountain climbing last night. Took us forever to locate him at the top of the closet. :)

Great looking socks..I have made a pair or two in the past year but need to get more comfortable with the instructions before I could tackle a pair like that. But it does give me something to look forward to..:) I also loved the pic of Lucy yesterday with the crossed eyes…how precious

I think your Boston Cream Pie and I are destined to be friends. Glorious, delicious friends.

That sock is amazing. You have produced some awesome designs lately–each one I see I think is better than the last… this one is definitely my favorite… hmmm, whatcha making now?!!

Love the socks they really are a master piece. The cake looks even better now. The picture of Lucy is really cute.

I liked the Six-Pack pattern on the other socks, but I REALLY like it on the sides on this new pair of socks. It looks more lace-like, too.

I had a cat who used to love jumping down on things (and people) from great heights. Lucky Lucy isn´t like that, or that Boston Cream Pie would have been in trouble…
And those sophisticated Sixpack Socks. Love them1

Mmmm….looks good! Cute Lucy! My boys love looking at her each day to see what she says. PRETTY socks.

Wollmeise! I am so jealous. I’ve been trying to get my paws on some of her Spice Market for about 4 months and can’t find anyone anywhere that has Wollmeise in stock in that color…. or practically in any color!

Coke for breakfast? You must be a Southern lady.

I love those new socks. Is the pattern going on sale at The Loopy Ewe soon?

Would love to have the recipe for the boston cream pie, Wendy. The “Six Pack” socks are gorgeous. The changes to the center motif worked out great. Hope you had a great birthday celebration and that everyone was happy with their birthday cakes!

I’m so envious of how quickly you knit socks! And they all look so nice.

Hope Lucy enjoyed the view!

It looks like Lucy and Miss Lulu have been conspiring again. First, Miss Lulu was on top of the refrigerator. And, now, Lucy has one-upped her in elevation! I’m afraid to see what Miss Lulu will try now that Lucy is the champion so far.

I had fantasies of seeing you on the Metro, but alas, it was not to be.

Ummmmm…..looks so yummy your cake….
as well as your new sock ! Conglats for the new beauty. Very noble.

32 Theresa in Italy 05.26.08 at 1:03 am

Awsome socks. Like L-B, I also see a girl with her head in her hands wearing lace sleeves (and I haven’t had too much time on my hands this weekend so it isn’t because of that)! Will definitely be stalking this pattern. (Oh, who am I kidding? I want them all!)

Boston Cream Pie, mmmmm! Hope you all had a great party!

33 TrishD 05.26.08 at 1:42 am

hi there… can I have a piece of cake?? Looks yummy!

When my Cat, Zoe, was a young kitten, she used to climb to the top of my bookshelf speakers, which were on speaker stands on top of my entertainment center. This made her be inches from the ceiling. Your photo of Lucy reminds me of that! Zoe is 16 now and still quite spry but no mountain climber. We used to say that her favorite perch was high atop Mount Stereo!

Hope you had a nice visit at your brother’s place, even if you only got a photo of his fridge. (Unfortunately I often take only those kinds ofphotos at events, too.)

Happy Federal Holiday! I’m spending mine at the swim club. Then it’s back to the grind on Tuesday. Yuck.

Trish

Love the sock! The cake looks delish too - like a big boston cream donut :-). Also, from yesterday - the yarn you were “flaunting” are the two most wanted in my Loopy Ewe wish list. I was green with envy seeing them so nonchalantly in your kitchen.
