Just Another Manic . . . Tuesday

by Wendy on July 15, 2008

Okay, so I’m a day late. Story of my life.

Here is the second ”Ida’s Delusions of Grandeur” this morning as it rested on my desk.

Speaking of Ida (she who named the sock), check out her most recent blog post. Ida is involved in a project called Patterns for Paws.

This is a joint project of The Lily M. Foundation, Inc.’s Lily’s Friends and the Purebred Cat Breed Rescue. Ida is asking knit and crochet pattern designers to donate a pattern that will be sold under Patterns for Paws. Patterns will be made available for download, and the proceeds from the sales, minus expenses, will be split evenly between The Lily M. Foundation’s Lily’s Friends, and Purebred Cat Breed Rescue.

If you are a knit or crochet designer, would you be willing to donate a pattern to the project? It doesn’t have to be animal related, and it can be for anything.

If so, please contact Ida at the email address in her blog post, linked above.

Ida happens to be test-knitting my Ivy League sock pattern and I am donating that pattern to her cause.

Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Select

I purchased some of the Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Select from The Loopy Ewe last week when Sheri put it up for sale. Isn’t it gorgeous?

I’m hoping Johanne will forgive me for posting that photo. ;-)

Lucy’s Little Sister

Lucy has a new little sister — see?

Lucy is not sure how she feels about the new arrival.

(ETA: This is a stuffed animal, not a real kitten!)

Meanwhile, my office sheep is ready for hot weather!

Oh Lucy’s sibling is a cute!
If it’s what I think it is, make sure you go online and feed it, get a job and earn money for a stylish abode. If you need a tutorial, Mini-Me is always available, and will be touring your area in approximately one week!
Oh! I hear the ice cream truck - gotta run! Choco Tacos are calling my name!

Hi Wendy, I’m sure that Lucy will grow to love her new sister. She is adorable as is Lucy. I think that is great that you have another fur ball! I am so glad that I have four. Never had a problem when they came in one at a time. In fact the two males from rescue were adult. When I got Maggie a kitten also rescue they were always playing Mother to her. Hobbs is the only one that wasn’t a direct rescue. His mother my daughters cat was.Congratulations. Oh what are you going to name her?

I have some of the Cherry Tree Hill on the right of the photo (reds/purples) I love it, I am currently using it. Can’t wait to see you knit yours up.

Cute sib…hopefully Lucy won’t do anything bad to her lil’ sis (or is it bro) when mom and dad aren’t looking.

CTH is my all-time favorite sock yarn. LOVE IT!

I’ll have to get the Ivy League sock pattern so I have something to go with my Ivy League Vest. ;)

Cute kitten- is it the kind that ‘purrs’ when petted?

I have some CTH dk weight sock yarn–so soft and delightful to knit.

WHY did you put a TAG on that poor kitten! LOL! (heh)
Loving your sheep. Loving generous Ida!

What a fabulous way to raise money for cat rescue. I will check out the site and purchase patterns. I run a Golden Retriever Rescue and I know how much each dollar means to the rescued furbabies. Oh my gosh…that stuffed cat looks so real I thought you had added to the family!

Now, posting a photo of PINK Supersock Select is the final proof that you have gone over to the dark side, my Overlord.
Not even donating patterns to animals in need will redeem you.

I´m afraid this is the end of a beautiful friendship…

Lucy looks like she trying to figure out what the new sibling is doing at her space. Have you picked a name for the new little one?

While the kitten is cute, that sheep is adorable!!!

And thanks for the head’s up on the “Patterns for Paws” and bless Ida’s heart for thinking of the animals in need! :-) luv, m.

Oops, I see Lucy’s Doppelganger is a ’she’, logically enough. I had suggested “Linus” as a name (in a comment on tomorrow’s post — ooh, what a cosmic thing to type). Maybe not, then.

I seem to be on a Peanuts kick, what about “Sally”?

I’m really enjoying watching you knock the socks off the needles. Lucy says- what? it does not do anything–where is the spin or feathers!
