Haiku Contest

Here are the top ten poems (in no particular order) as selected by my judges:

1.
Golden summer light
fades, loosing fireflies that they
reflect its glory.

2.
iridescent wings
flit here, there and everywhere
elusive dragonfly.

3.
mowing green at dusk
thunder rumbling distant drum
sweat trickles down face.

4.
her long fur whispers
in the summer breezes
as she lays in shade.

5.
Lilacs scent the air
Memories of summers past
Floating on the breeze.

6.
Summer breezes blow
Across the fields of flowers
While they dance…I knit.

7.
Bees attack my hair
Bugs are flying in my face
I’ll stay in and knit.

8.
Who has time to plant?
Summer of Socks is at hand.
Weeds, weeds everywhere.

9.
Cotton, hemp, and silk;
bamboo draped like waterfalls;
summer knitting soothes!

10.
Hot cicadas screech.
Peaches ripen by the pool.
My white wine is cold.
