What's a Mouse-a-thon?

Some of you might recall that I posted a while back that Lucy's foster mom paid us a visit. She was quite taken with the catnip mouse I had knitted for Lucy and offered to sell them for me (she works in a pet shop), saying that people would snap them up. I said I'd rather donate mice to her rescue organization, Capital Animal Care, for them to sell at fundraisers.

Well, I can only knit so many mice.

Here's What We're Gonna Do

Anyone who wants to participate, send me as many handknitted catnip mice as you like -- one or twenty or two hundred. (No, I don't expect two hundred mice from a single participant!) For each mouse you send me, you will get one entry for the raffle for the prizes (described on the Prizes page).

Send me your mice by September 30, 2003 to be included in the drawing (or if you're going to be a tad late and didn't mail until September 30, let me know when you mail and how many mice are on the way from you so I can give you the proper number of entries).

For each mouse you send me, send me a filled-out raffle ticket (a sheet of blank raffle tickets you can print out and use is available here). If you don't have a printer to print out the tickets, write the requested information on a slip of paper -- one slip of paper for each mouse you send.

To get my snail mail address, email me. It would be easier for me to post my address here, but I'd rather not put it online.

If you are outside the US and are concerned about sending catnip internationally, or can't get catnip, we have a solution! Jen and Rose have generously offered to receive "empty" mice from knitters outside the U.S., stuff 'em, and send them on to me. Email me, and I'll hook you up with one of these two ladies. Thanks, Jen and Rose!

Mouse Specifications

Use wool or wool-blend yarn please, and knit a mouse with a body that's approximately 3 inches long, excluding the tail. Use the pattern we used in the Mouse-along, or use your own. Knit plain mice, textured mice, cabled mice, whatever you like. And stuff 'em with catnip, of course. :-)

If you have any questions, you can post them to my blog or email me
