I didn’t stretch it, it’s just the nature of the yarn to spread out nicely. Here’s the shawl in its current state:

The clean eating is going very well, thanks for asking. I guess I’m in my fourth week, and I estimate that I’ve been 90 – 95% “clean.” No sugar, no white flour, no artificial sweeteners, and pretty close to no preservatives. I drink at least 4 liters of water a day. I’ve noticed results — I feel good, have lost 12 pounds, and my skin looks good enough that I’ve stopped wearing make-up.

Nope, but it’s close in color. For the wimple I used Alchemy Juniper in “Evening Pink.”

Today

Today I braved the blustery day to spend some time at Fibrespace. The windchill outside was brutal, but it was warm and cozy in the shop. and there might have been some yarn fondling. Because I’m on a shawlette kick lately, I bought yarn for two more.

This is Dragonfly Fibers Dragonsock in the “Starry Night” colorway. I love it.

And that’s Madeline Tosh Tosh Sock in the “Baltic” colorway. I love that too!

While I was out having fun with other knitters, Lucy was snug at home, contemplating the wonderment of existence.

Or something.

The bag has made an appearance in my blog before — it was made and given to me by Richmond knitter Issy when I was down there at the end of June. It’s just the right size for carrying the pink blob around!

I’m getting ready to transfer the pink blob to a longer needle. It’s on a 24-incher right now. While that is perfectly fine for the number of stitches I’ve got, I do like being able to spread my knitting out a bit more, particularly when I’m knitting a new design that I may wanna make changes to on the fly.

This Weekend

Tomorrow I’m going to Minneapolis to teach classes and hang with knitters at Needlework Unlimited. I hope I’ll see some of you there.

I return home late-ish Sunday night, so no blog post on Sunday. (Oh, and I’ll be internet-free for most of the weekend too.) So I’ll see y’all Monday.

Momma’s going away again? Catnip par-tay time!

In spite of feeling poorly, it was a fun weekend! L-B picked me up at the train station and we met up with fellow KnitPlurker Aimee (who drove up from North Carolina) for lunch. After lunch we met up with Frances, another NC KnitPlurker! We all checked into a hotel and had a fun afternoon and evening of knitting, talking, and laughing, joined by local knitters Lou and Alice.

Saturday was a book-signing at one my favorite yarn shops — The Yarn Lounge. We had a wonderful day meeting online acquaintances and seeing old friends again. There may have been some stash enhancement as well . . .

I’m not feeling up to a full post today but I wanted to say thank you to everyone involved for the fun weekend, and Lucy wanted to say thank you for the fresh catnip and for this:
