Can we talk?

Izzy can be a chatty gal . . .

Hope you all had a good weekend. We did.

We had a Fudgie the Whale ice cream cake.

We sat around in our handknit socks. The top photo is Opal and the bottom photo Regia Jacquard.

We had a Valtos photo session.

There are a couple of much better photos on the Official Valtos Page.

We saw a cute little bird while we were out.

And I finished my dad’s socks in Regia 6. Official photo is here.

And last but not least, I finished the first of the Regia Ringel socks I started Thursday night.

And I’ll probaby start Fulmar some time this week. I’ll at least do the gauge swatch.

I’ve got a top secret Knitty project to work on too. It’s for the issue after next so I’ve got plenty of time to complete it, but I’ll be starting on that soon too.

  1. I am confused… I thought Fudgie the Whale was just a Father’s Day thing! (Grew up celebrating any occasion with a Carvel cake!)

  2. Hi Melissa — we have Fudgie the Whale available year round in the Washington DC area. Go figure. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Hi Wendy!
You and green were meant to be together! Valtos is gorgeous! And Izzy looks so very expressive today! I just love her!
The Opal socks are WONDERFUL! WHat colour is that? My daughter is the sock knitter, she just finished a pair of Regia for me, will have to find that Opal so she can make a pair of those that we can share! Boy, the magic of that yarn!

  4. Love all the pics. I think the Opal socks are my favorite.

  5. Very impressive, Wendy. Did you all notice how Ian’s sock stripes line up EXACTLY??? ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m scared! Valtos is divine! What an awesome color and texture! Beautiful work!

  6. Valtos looks beautiful on you Wendy.

  7. Love the Opal socks!! The picture of Izzy is adorable too! And that cake is making me hungry!!Have a great day!

  8. The Valtros Looks beautiful! I’m so jealous you are starting the Fulmar – I haven’t even received the color card yet! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Hi Guys, thanks for all the compliments! ๐Ÿ™‚

Kateri, the color # for the Opal socks was just “2” on the label. The page for those socks is at:

  10. Izzy is too funny! What was she saying, BTW? I can’t tell if she’s happy, mad, or sad!

  11. Thanks Wendy! I will call Caroden this afternoon! They are actually customers of mine ๐Ÿ™‚ I really like that colourway! Thank you!

  12. I had to laugh out loud when I saw the picture of Izzy. She looks like someone just told her the funniest joke and she is laughing so hard! (Sorry, I have a great imagination—:) Valtos is beautiful, but I didn’t expect anything less coming from you. Since I started reading your blog, you have knit several pairs of socks and two sweaters. I’m still working on one sweater. Of course, as many times as I have had to rip it out and start over, I could have knit 10–that’s a little inflated, but you get my point. Looking forward to following your next project!

  13. Kateri, the Opal yarn is from the Southwest Collection. ๐Ÿ™‚ That might help you track it down.

  14. Actually, the Opal yarn I used for the pink/blue socks is not from the Southwest Collection — it came out a while before the Southwest colors did and is probably now unavailable. ๐Ÿ™

  15. Caroline F says:

Valtos is very cool. Or should I say warm. Your neckline looks a little wider than mine, maybe it’s because you didn’t knit as many rows.

Izzy looks like she’s having a good, evil laugh about something or other.

  16. Evening Wendy – the Valtos is lovely, you in it more so! The socks look fab and the cake is making me yearn (and contemplate sending bill off to the store for some Hagen Das), you tease!

  17. Thanks Kate! And I didn’t mean to taunt you with Fudgie the Whale. Honest. ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. No, it is Southwest, which came out almost a year ago (?). I double-checked the skein I have in my drawer, and it’s the same color number. ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. In that case it was misrepresented to me (but not by Carodan Farm — I just happen to know that’s where it was bought originally)

  20. Love the Regia Ringel socks! Beautiful colour.
