My current work in progress:

Seaforth designed by Alice Starmore, knit in British Breeds 5-ply Guernsey Wool on US 3 needles.

I got quite a few limericks yesterday. Hey, you guys are quite the poets, aren’t you? I’m very impressed with not only the quality, but comic value of your work. Keep ’em coming!

And to clarify — feel free to enter as many limericks as you like, via email please.

Sock FO

You were probably wondering if I was ever gonna finish these, huh?

These are the socks I knitted from the Joslyn’s Fiber Farm “Dancing Feet” sock yarn in color “Treebark.” Yarn was a gift from Lindsey-Brooke — aren’t they cute? You can check out the details on the Treebark Socks Page.

And I started a new sock project . . .

Disco socks!

Made from Opal Royal yarn, a gift from Katherine. I just barely started these. but already they are so fun!!!

You might notice that I changed my Works In Progress list in the sidebar to include Henry VIII — it’s a lie. I haven’t started it yet. But soon . . .

  1. Oh gawd! I really need to read more carefully. I must give credit where credit is due . . . my apologies, Ian! Now why did I ever think QueerJoe would write something “pornographic?”

  2. Hehe..Kerstin, I wondered when I visited your site..I’m like..QueerJoe is IAN???? 🙂

Wendy, GREAT socks, especially the Dancing Feet ones!! I was just at her site today trying to figure out what color I wanted to order..I was even thinking of the sock a month club, but I would buy so much sock yarn in between I’d become my own yarn store. 🙂

  3. Cool contest, Wendy! I’ll have to give this one a try. And I am really looking forward to your starting Henry VIII. That sweater is so beautiful! I would love to make it for my hubby, but he wouldn’t wear it (too warm). Watching you make yours will be the closest I ever get!

  4. Love the socks! And the new “disco” ones will be gorgeous too.

  5. Those socks are to die for!! So beautiful.

  6. Stéphanie says:

Great socks! ANd the ones you’re beginning are to …disco queen! Are you thinking of a conversion?

What are the comments on the chocolate (or have you been SUCH a good girl?)

  7. The Dancing Toes socks look great. I got my yarn from Joslyn’s last night, and was amazed at how fine it is. I see that you used the same size needles you mention using with Opal and Regia but this yarn feels much thinner to me. Did you get a gauge similar to that with Opal and other sock yarns? I guess I’m just going to have to cast on and see!

  8. Great socks, Wendy! Give me a little push so I’ll start mine! 😉 The metallic ones are going to be so cute!

Can I even write a sentence that doesn’t have an exclamation point?!? I guess not!

  9. The Dancing Toes socks are at a finer gauge, so I had to cast on more stitches than for “normal” sock yarn. But the 2mm needles worked just fine.

  10. Wendy, what size DPNs are you using on the Opal? I’m about to start a pair in Tiger this week. I have never used Opal, and I think the 1’s I normally use for socks may be too big. I LOVE the metallic blue.

  11. Thanks for the “outing” update. I’ve been a little afraid to visit there today. Although, I guess that’s not different from most days. My poor virgin eyes! I can’t even begin to tell you how much my jaw dropped this morning when I realized my faux pas. Someone, quick, get the duct tape out now . . .

  12. Kerstin, I think everyone involved got a laugh out of it . . . unfortunately at your expense!
