Back at Work

Well, it was nice while it lasted.

I had a good day off yesterday. Didn’t do much of anything, but did get some Hank 8 knitting done. I took a photo, but it wasn’t great and I was too lazy to take another. So tomorrow.

Izzy worked hard all day.

I did get the body of Hank done, and bound off one shoulder, so tonight will be embarking on the collar after binding off the second shoulder. I always do the collar before the sleeves on fair isles. It’s easier to knit, I think, without the added weight of the sleeves.

April Contest

I’ve gotten lots of entries with great tips –keep ’em coming! Remember to get your entry in by Friday afternoon. I’m creating a webpage of all the tips so everyone can see and enjoy them.

Look What I Got!

Some of you know about my penchant for cowboy boots. I’ve been searching for a pair of purple boots for years, to no avail. So . . . courtesy of eBay, here are my brand-new Tony Lama purple lizard boots. Yee-hah!

  1. Okay, now I don’t usually go for cowboy boots, but those are DARLING!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Great find! ๐Ÿ™‚ Almost looked like shoe boots until I realized you probably don’t wear leather socks…hehe. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Nice boots! As far as I’m concerned, you can *never* go wrong with purple! ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. No one will mess with you on the Metro wearing those boots! Terrific find!

  4. It’s great to see you with your feet up – relaxing and chillin’

last week i was in san antonio and we went to a luchesse boot store, they had boots all around the store that depicted each state, fabulous! i thought of you, wendy and your boot collection. i didn’t even dare ask the price!

  6. Linda M says:

Wendy, I love your boots! Do you rear your knitted socks with them? How do the socks wear under the boots? Do they chafe? Do they hold up ok?

  7. Love the boots Wendy! My dream boots are purple Doc Martins!

    Have a great day!

  8. Omigod! I LOVE those boots! I have salivated over the stacks in your boot-room photo, but these are the creme de la creme, as purple is my fave. I’ve only bought yarn on eBay . . . so far.

  9. Yummy boots! Stamp out annoyances!

  10. Good score!!!

  11. Ooooh, very cool boots!!!!!!

  12. Great boots, Wendy.

I’ve got a VERY similar pair of Noconas in the same skin, only mine are (were? they need repair on the soles) peanut brittle color. Probably **THE** most comfortable pair of footwear I own.

Haven’t worn them in a couple years……….much to my dismay.

  13. Some boots, Wendy! Although, I was awfully surprised to see that you didn’t have purple already, considering just how many pairs you had. At least it’s not too warm to wear them! (Silver lining to everything, right?)

  14. As a fellow cowboy boot owner, I like your latest buy. I’ve been very successful on ebay in the past. Funny, last night I started wearing in a new pair of chocolate Justins to wear this winter to work. I’ve finally got up the courage to wear them to work. It’s a bit like a monastary here – deathly quiet & concrete floors, so was concerned about waking people up. But I think they might need the jolt & boots are in this year,so no surprises.

  15. My chocolate lizard Justins are my favorite boots. I definitely stand out at the office — no one else wears cowboy boots every day. And no one else has hot pink lizard boots. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    At least I’m memorable . . .

  16. I’m already memorable at work. Today our head’s PA left. At her farewell speech, she commented on our total acceptance of everything & everone. “My 1st staff meeting & there was Jobbie(me) sitting in the corner, & no one batted an eyelid. What a wonderful workplace to be in.” The boots will probably enhance my reputation.
BTW – are you going to go back to plain, but textured knitting this year?? Or never?? Just want your opinion.
