My current work in progress:

Seaforth designed by Alice Starmore, knit in British Breeds 5-ply Guernsey Wool on US 3 needles.

And I’m not going to work.

I’d been planning all along to make this a long weekend and take Friday and Monday off. I’m glad I did — I can use a couple of days off.

St. Moritz

Still didn’t do hardly any work on St. Moritz. See?

I spent a fair amount of time looking for my 32″ size 4 needle last night because I need it for the colorwork in St. Moritz. I . . . uh . . . found it in my knitting bag. Where I put it for easy access.

So now I can start the colorwork. 🙂

Maryland Sheep and Wool

It’s this weekend. Like you didn’t know. It’s supposed to be rainy and 59 degrees on Saturday, cloudy and low 60s on Sunday. Could be worse. Could be in the 90s!

I have a date with some shelter kitties on Saturday but may well show up at MDS&W on Sunday.

Have a good weekend everyone. And thanks for your continued comments and emails about Izzy.

  1. Good for you Wendy – hope you enjoy your long weekend and get lots of knitting done. Looking forward to seeing St. Moritz grow. I am almost getting adventurous enough to launch into my first Dale sweater. I am starting by doing a Bea Ellis hat for my other half!

Good luck with adopting a new cat from the shelter – he/she will be going to such a good home!

  2. I’m at MDS$W both days…if I see someone that looks like you on Sunday, I’ll say hi!

  3. Have a restful weekend – take good care of yourself. My cats and I will be thinking of you and the shelter cat. Thanks again for keeping us posted this week.

I’ll also look for you at MD Sheep & Wool – I’ll be there both days – and I’m taking two classes with Lucy Neatby.

    Much Love,

Enjoy your weekend, and the festival if you go! Hope the sun shines on you!

  5. Andrea says:

Have a great weekend, Wendy. I’ll be a S&W on Saturday with my kids. I hope you find a nice kitty(ies) to come home with you!

  6. Colleen says:

Have a wonderful weekend full of fiber (and fur). I am looking forward to hearing all about your adventures next week – and to seeing your pictures.

  7. If you see me at Sheep & Wool, please say hello!

  8. Have a good weekend and try enjoy S&W. If it’s anything like the Black Sheeep Gathering here on the West Coast, it’ll be fun.

  9. Here’s hoping you fall in love at the shelter. Some lucky cat will find a home that makes all that time in a cage worthwhile.

  10. Shannon says:

Good luck with the shelter kitties! If I could have my way, my house would be full of rescued bundles of fuzz.

Maybe I’ll see you at MD Sheep & Wool! My first year attending!

    And, yay it’s finaly Friday!!!!!!!

  11. Have a nice long weekend Wendy! I hope you get to go to MD and enjoy the festival. I also hope you see the kitty that is meant for you at the shelter. My problem would be that I would want them all. Can’t wait to see what you accomplish on St. Moritz. I will be starting Baby Norgi soon, needles and yarn are waiting for me to finish up one project.

  12. Hi Wendy – I am a new knitter and have found much inspiration at your site. I just started my own blog and hope to join the friendly community of fellow knitters as well!

I am definitely looking forward to hearing how the kitty appointment goes this weekend! I have to say I was sad to hear the news of Izzy – and everyone’s comments here have been so supportive and thoughtful. Hope you’re doing well.

    Thanks for a great site.

  13. Good for you…..> playing hookie! Nice that your going to make some tiny kitty a very lucky boy or girl. Hope you fall in love, AND get some yarn.

  14. Wendy, I’ve been offline for a while and just heard about Izzy from Larry’s Blog… I’m so very sorry for your loss. You both are in my thoughts and prayers today.

Best wishes on finding another furry friend with whom to share your life.

I hope you will have a good time at the wool festival. Take care of yourself.

Hi Wendy — I haven’t been online for about a week, so I just read about Izzy. I’m so sorry for your loss. Beautiful Izzy was a lucky kitty, to have a loving mama like you. I’ll be looking forward to seeing pictures of your new knitting buddy!

Thanks for all the inspiration — your blog is the BEST!!!!!

  16. Hi Wendy,
First of all, I am so, so sorry for your loss of most precious Izzy. My heart and prayers are with you.
I am sure that there is a new little one just waiting to be in your care whom Izzy will guide you to.
I was looking so forward to MSW this weekend but just couldn’t go as I am home caring for one of my kitty babies who has sensory nerve damage. As much as I adore knitting and it is my passion I just could not leave my Soonie. Please pray that he will heal in time.
