New Project Tuesday

Yes kiddies, today is New Project Tuesday.

Well, actually, yesterday was New Project Monday because that’s when I started it, but I’m not talking about it until today, so today, Tuesday, gets credit for it. No, it’s not fair to Monday, but Monday should be used to getting a bad rap.

Still with me?

This is a design I whipped up over the weekend. I’m calling her Lisa, and she will become an all-over ribbed raglan with short sleeves. Waist-length with some body shaping.

I started knitting her on the train yesterday. Have I mentioned lately that I love Calmer?

And I returned to some shrug knitting as well. Hmmmmmm, close in color to Lisa. Oh well. I have both side fronts done.

I did make a start on the back as well.

SpongeBob Presents

A couple of recent acquisitions here at WendyKnits. First, some silk chenille purchased from Danette Taylor Designs on eBay.

Spongebob really seems to like this yarn!

But he also likes this:

A Colinette AbFab kit in the Sonora colorway. Woo-hoo!

A Big Thank You

To Theresa, Becky, Lis, and Morgan, the lovely hostesses for the Audrey Knit-along. I received my Audrey label!

Isn’t it great??!! And what a fun knit-along too!

WendyKnits at Home

Here’s something frightening:

Yes, I own Big Girl Shoes. I was wearing them around the house to practice wearing them to work today. Yuh-huh. We’ll see if I can still walk at the end of the day.

But aren’t they cute? (Psst! On sale at Ann Taylor Loft! I bought ’em in white, too!)

Lucy Sez:

My eyes! My eyes! Enough!

(Psst! Note to Ms. Amy: Why yes, those are man hands! Gimmee my ten extra points!)

  1. I mailed out additional critter knitter prizes last week-hopefully the package will arrive bbefore the contest deadline!

  2. more calmer. i just love that yarn. think i better get back to my audrey so i can justify buying more calmer. i really like the color you are using. and that stash-o-rama is really nice. great colors.

  3. Geeesh! First, the Empress of Fair Isle goes to the dark side and wallows in all manner of fibers and all possible garment configs. Then she shuns cowgirl boots in favor of a pair of girly girl sexy shoes. BA indeed!!! Ain’t life grand?

  4. Hey Wendy, did I mention that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE calmer? I’ve got a good stash of it. Now I just have to decide what I’m going to knit with it all!
Can’t wait to see this Calmer top.

  5. Love the name of your latest design ๐Ÿ™‚ ! Can’t wait to see more of it.

  6. Spongebob probably likes your silk chenille because of the color base plus he looks well-set in it in all his glory. (deep southern definition of well-set – to gloriously smooze oneself in their surroundings!)

Gorgeous shoes and feet – uncover those pretty feet for the summer. Show off that perfect pedicure.

  7. I just touched Calmer for the first time last night and I seriously want to swim in a pool of it. So soft and lovely….

Spongebob Stashpants is cracking me up.

  8. What big girl shoes you have! ๐Ÿ™‚ Remember, don’t swing them up on the conference table too fast, you’ll give ’em all a heartattack!

  9. You’ve been whipping things out at such a frenzied pace I had to go and take another look at Audrey.

Whoever whipped out that tag needs to offer a personalized tag business…I’d love to have a tag for my FO’s that I could personalize the way I want.

  10. Love the new shoes, I’m a shoe-ho so I had to comment. We just got an Ann Taylor Loft in Maine, I may have to go searching for those shoes, I love the new styles with kitten heels!!

  11. Glad you like the tag! It was get them done and even more fun to share them with everyone. I’ve become a bigger fan of Calmer than I expected to (and I’ve only knit two pieces of Audrey so far). I’ll be looking forward to seeing how your new top out of it turns out!

  12. Love the ebay purchase, very pretty. Can’t wait to see what you whip up with that.

With all the hullabaloo about Calmer… might have to go get me some!

  13. On behalf of the Audrey Knit Along Steering Committee, I would like to congratulate you on earning your label. Now, some might say that being labeled is a bad thing, but in this case it is a good thing.

  14. Danielle (a long-time non-posting lurker) says:

Love the shoes! I tried them on at my local Ann Taylor Loft yesterday, but they didn’t have my size.

  15. After an age of lurking, I just have to say that I can’t get enough of Sponge Bob posing with the yarn. It gives me the giggles something fierce. What an awesome way to start the day.

I’m a teacher and sometimes I used to get my class’ attention by singing: “Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?” The students would all chime in and then we’d start the lesson. And they were high schoolers…
