Stash-i-cab Confessions

I can’t take it any longer. The guilt is too much.

When I look at Spongebob Stashpants’ happy, innocent little face, I have an overwhelming urge to confess.

I enhanced my stash this past Saturday.

I didn’t mean to. It was an accident.

We stopped by Knit Happens for “just a minute.” Before I knew it, this had jumped into my hands:

More Alchemy Resevoir. Enough for another felted hat. Yum! As Kristine aptly pointed out, I’ll stand out wearing this hat!

And a skein of Alchemy Japanese Lantern. I couldn’t help it. Resistance was futile.

You see, I’m almost done knitting the shop sample Japanese Lantern scarf — see?

It’s so much fun to knit, that I had to get some for myself.

By the way, I wasn’t the only one having fun at Knit Happens . . .

Speaking of Felted Hats . . .

Here is my progress on my first Alchemy Resevoir felted hat. Isn’t the colorway wonderful?

AbFab Throw

And here is my bit o’ progress on my new AbFab throw. I’m liking the colors a lot!

Just for Fun

My Spongebob collection is not limited to my home — no siree-bob. Here are some of my beloved Spongebob office toys.

And these.

Yes, I’m an adult. Why do you ask?

Please To Note:

Our girl Michelle has moved house. Everybody Loves Saturday Night is now located here! I hope you enjoy your new home, Michelle!

Critter Knitters!

Didja make a blanket for our Critter Knitter project? Wanna feel good about yourself?

Read Liz’s blog entry from yesterday.

Lucy sez:

Please, dahling! No more photos! I’m feeling quite delicate!

  1. oh your stash contains the most gorgeous colors. hmmm, i think a trip to KH is now in order. that green alchemy resevoir is yum….my!

  2. I would love to make it down to KH sometime soon… it looks like they have beautiful stuff. That Alchemy Resevoir is the most luscious color! I like the way that the new AbFab is working out too.

  3. Hooray for Ian for showing that knitting continues to be ‘a manly art’!

  4. Wendy, I’ll just make sure that I’m wearing my sunglasses when your wearing you lovely green felted hat! LOL
I love the Abfab throw. The colors are beautiful and it looks sooo soft and cuddly. I have that in the ivory colorway..which I will make this winter! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. As a person who a)loves to felt and b)loves alchemy but hasn’t seen resevoir in person to buy it yet, I am anxiously awaiting your felting report for this yarn. I did buy some alchemy (the only one I ever saw.. a nylon blend in a colorway called heart) but I *want* wool. So just consider me your envious onloooker with her nose presed against the computer screen.

And your AbFab looks devine as always.

  6. Your current AbFab is lovely; very much the Knit Happens colors. And I love the newest additions to the stash pile; it seems like Spongebob does too, he’s really holding that skein of Japanese Lattern with something like adoration in his eyes.

  7. I really want to be apart of the “Laras” knit alongs, but as a poor student, I can’t justify buying a pattern book that I may only use one pattern out of it. Does anyone know if there is a way to just buy one pattern from a book? I mean the yarn is going to kill me anyways, if I can even find it… TIA

  8. Re your Spongebob office toys: I used to have a Buffy the Vampire Slayer figurine poised (stake in hand) beside my computer monitor. Nothing wrong with office toys!
And if you need a word for all the stuff that accumulates on your desk around your computer/monitor, here’s one: geekosphere. Use in sentence:
My geekosphere is full of toys and neat stuff! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Who said that adults can’t have toys at the office? It’s quite an important destressor to have… ๐Ÿ™‚ Anyways, Spongebob Stashpants has to have his minions at the office checking up on the knitting you do there! ๐Ÿ˜‰ (Thanks for checking out my new digs this morning too!)

  10. Wendy, it looks as if you have the same yarn magnet implants in the palms of your hands that I do! I just realized that I haven’t bought any yarn in about ten days–no wonder I feel weak today. . . must buy more yarn. . . .

  11. Love the stash and Spongebob. Ok, I am nosy, what brand of bag is the scarf resting on? It looks like suede on my computer. I admit, I am a bag-a-holic.

  12. I love the picture of Spongebob fondling the Japanese Lantern.

Everything you’re working on here is just luscious. The AbFab throw looks especially soft and cuddle-worthy.

  13. must buy more yarn…

    must buy more sponge bob…

    it’s your fault.

  14. My 21 year old sister also have a spongebob collection. One of our regulars at the blockbuster I work at is in her 30’s and also loves spongebob. Its awesome, not silly.

  15. I love your current Ab fab throw-I’m making the Colinette Vintage Kits Poncho after seeing your Knit Happens version. I took your advise and used the cut ends from yarn changing in the next row–knitting them in–does that make sense! Thanks for the tip!

  16. I love the green color! It’s so pretty.

I like Spongebob, too. My husband thinks I’m nuts. Glad to see that I’m not the only one! I’m going to take my little sisters to see the movie… then I’ll not have to watch it alone. Plus, I’ll just say “Well, it is for the kids!”
