Tying It All Together

I blather on about knitting here.

And lately I’ve been blathering on about iPods.

How to tie it all together? A fun knitting song you can download to put on your iPod. It’s called The Disco Knitter and it can be downloaded in mp3 format here.

Here is the message I received about the song last week:

We’re a duo from Nashville TN called the Disco Arts and Crafts Collective. After making this song we found your Bad Ass Knitter site and thought that you of all people would enjoy and appreciate our work. The song is called, “The Disco Knitter.” Basically, we’re just trying to make people smile and make arts and crafts sexy again.

It sure made me smile — thanks! I’ve got The Disco Knitter loaded on Neville. ๐Ÿ™‚

I completed both front pieces of Dew.

I’m working on the beaded corsage tis afternoon. I’ll post photos of that in my next blog entry.

At the moment an upper respiratory infection is beating the crap out of me, so I may wait til I’m feeling better before assembling the sweater. No doubt I’ll do a much better job if I do!

Apres Dew

What shall I knit next? I’m leaning towards the Hourglass Sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts because I am dying to fling a needle into the Alchemy Synchronicity that I got to make it!

Microsuede — Cat Fur Magnet?

Several of you have asked if the microsuede duvet cover attracts cat fur. Lucy has been spending a lot of time rolling on it, and I can see no apparent cat hair on it.

Disclaimer: I have a super-power: special vision that allows me to block the sight of cat hair and dust bunnies so that I feel no guilt about my very poor housekeeping habits.

  1. Disco knitting(!!!) is fab, dah-ling. Really.

I may have to design something now to wear while I am dancing through the house singing this song!
    It’s pretty catchy.

  2. Mmm! I’m really liking Dew more than I expected to. I’m looking forward to seeing the FO (which I’m sure you’ll have posted quick as lightning!).

  3. Feel better soon!

  4. Ha ha, I have that super power too. Very handy, and prevent housekeeping from steeling my knitting time ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Don’t forget the band The Knitters!

  6. cat talk – I take it that a seal-point ragdoll is a cross betweena siamese and a ragdoll???? I’ve got a couple of siamese girls. is your cat very vocal?

  7. Oh, the hourglass sweater… it was my first one ever, and it is still one of my favorite patterns – simple and elegant, easy and yet somehow rewarding enough… make it, make it!

  8. Song chuckle. Cat hair, what’s that? I’m blind to it, too (and I have a long-haired black kitty).

  9. patty bolgiano says:

If your thoat feels sore, stuffy head, and generally feeling like crap, this is the 10 freaking day bug that exhaust you. I also lost my sense of taste and could only eat chicken soup. Talk about weight loss! I am now swatching yarn from my stash. Hope you feel much better soon. Drink plenty of liquids.

  10. My nano (I think I will name it Mork) will be here tomorrow according to FedEx. No apple store in NM so ordered it online. Put off getting a mini and glad I did! Got the armband for working out and the tubes but they are back ordered.

I have The Sweater Song (Undone) by Weezer on my Shuffle. I will have to get disco knitter.

    Dew is very pretty.

  11. I hope you’ll feel better soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

The new duvet cover is definitely for Lucy.

Unfortunately, I’m not currently gifted with super powers which would allow me to be blind to the long grey cat hairs on the sofa and all over the floor. Could you recommend a good place to buy it? ๐Ÿ˜›

  12. Feel better! I can’t wait to see the finished Dew. It is so pretty!

  13. Wendy, Hope you’re feeling better soon. Can’t wait to see the finished Dew. It is so lucious looking. The new duvet is beautiful. Sometimes I wish I had the color carpet you have. Unfortunately, our bedroom carpet is navy and you can see ever speck of dust and Lucy (our dog)hair that seems to float in the air this time of year. ๐Ÿ™

  14. I LOVE the song. Must continue to play over and over til I can sing along. The Weezer Sweater Song is my frogging anthem, as you’ve heard.

I hope you kick they ick and are feeling yourself again.

Was pondering the hourglass sweater myself. I think I want to make a few modifications.

  15. Feel better soon. Dew is lovely and the hourglass sweater looks like a great pattern. I too have the same ability to block dog hair and dust – I choose to believe my dog doesn’t shed (yeah, right).

  16. Grrl, I’m having serious iPod envy.

  17. Thanks for commenting about the microsuede cat magnet properties that I was one of those asking about. Now I am even more enamored of getting one for myself (as if I needed the help! ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. My personal motto: Dull women have immaculate houses.

    What cat hair?

  19. My Nano Noir says “Hi!” are they wonderful! -Cheers!

  20. Feel better, Wendy. That nasty virus is going around — you’ve got yours now and hopefully won’t have it in the dead of winter.

I find that cat hair adds texture and character.

  21. My two cents regarding Microfiber – I’ve found that even if the cat hair sticks to the microfiber, it’s much easier to wipe it off than other materials. I now have a chair and a loveseat slipcover in it – love it, love it.

    Feel better, Wendy!

  22. Hmmm… I thought I was the original Disco Knitter. Do I have a stalker ? Or is this just divine synchronicity ?
