Friday Night at the Movies

More genius from the camera of the KOARC. Enjoy!

  1. brilliant! the score is epic – the toy is old hat for those of us up here in the cool nyc area – but that’s OK –

looks like Ms Lucy is in cattoy heaven… hope so!

    best from the northeast region,

  2. Does she not try to play with your roving there on the floor?

  3. I love it. I just love it!

  4. Yea!!! KOARC is making it a trilogy.

Have a wonderful weekend the three of you.

  5. CUTE!!!!!!!! Love that Lucy!

  6. Thanks, KOARC!!! Lucy, Lucy, Lucy!

  7. Hi! I never imagined Lucy as a “Beethoven” girl before, but I think the KOARC hit it right on the nose!

  8. Great video! Can’t wait for the next one.

  9. Too cute. Lucy is just full of energy, but how do you keep her out of your roving? I saw the wheel in the backround with the roving. Doesn’t she think of that as a play toy too?

  10. This one is more of an epic than the first, I think. Beethoven, Huntley, and Brinkley would all be proud.

Kinda makes “The Greatest Show on Earth” seem like a home movie …

Go Lucy – hope you catch that feather!

  11. Too Cute! My 2 year old son has asked me to play it 5 times in a row.

  12. Awwwww, that makes me miss my kitties!!! I used to have cats but haven’t had any for several years, sniff sniff…

  13. Love the dramatic score. But still no speaking role? We want to hear her mew! ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Who knew with all this technology, we’d find a way to use it to watch video of someone else’s cat play with a toy ๐Ÿ˜‰

  15. Love that Lucy!

  16. That was really cute and fun to watch.

  17. Love the soundtrack — it suits the epic struggle that KOARC filmed. Thanks!

  18. No wonder Lucy’s tired all day! A little Beethoven to enhance the hunt never hurts either ๐Ÿ˜‰

  19. Lucy’s a rocker girl with her black and hot pink toy. When I was a kid, my best friend and I used to do that to her cat. It was pretty funny *sigh* Kitties always amaze us, mere mortals that we are.

  20. She is such a cutie-pie!

  21. She’s done an excellent job of training y’all!

  22. Is that Beethoven’s Ninth, The “Ode to Joy” on the soundtrack? How appropriate!

  23. Bravo! Encore! Love the music, too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  24. A Clockwork Lucy. Favorite soundtrack of all time.

  25. So cute, and yet if we were mouse-sized, those adorable widdle fuzzy paws would be PAN-SIZED FISTS OF DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    She’s adorable. ๐Ÿ™‚

  26. Add me to the amazed ones that she isn’t all over that pile of roving on the floor!

  27. Ooh, my cat loves his bird on a string as well! Although right now he’s obsessed with a bottle cap…I love the music, how fitting, and how cute Lucy is, as always!

  28. Now you need a cut-out of Schroeder playing piano in the background, for Lucy to lounge on.

  29. Way too cute ๐Ÿ™‚

    Lucy Rocks!!!!

  30. I laughed! I cried! I wanted a feathertoy for myself!

  31. Thanks for the second one. I love the background music. Lucy is too cute.

  32. Hope this will be a weekly sitcom with Lucy and please do use more Beethoven (the love of my life).
But I also have to join the chorus in asking: how, please do tell us how, you manage to keep Lucy from the roving shown but also from your other knitting projects. I myself cannot even turn the back without putting everything away, which actually makes me knit and spin less. In the latest incident one cat destroyed my line flax, did not think he would touch that raw, scratcy stuff, but ……educate us Wendy, please.

  33. My 3-year-old who has two cats to play with was mesmerized by the video when he heard the music and keeps asking to watch it again–I guess he is looking for pointers on how to play with his own kitties!

  34. Too Cute. Lucy is adorable!

I hope the toy will not influence her to mistake your roving for a kitty toy.

  35. One of my cats love that toy. He tries to eat it everytime he catches it. The other keeps thinking that it is trying to attack her and runs off after a minute of swatting it away.

Lucy looks like she is having a ball and I love the soundtrack.

  36. I’ve never left a comment before, woo!
Anyways, I’ve been reading your blog for a long time now, and I wanted to clue you in on a sock yarn I think you’d like! It is very similar to Socks That Rock in structure- tightly spun with a lot of spring and boing and a lot of silky softness. You can find the sock yarn I’m talking about at in the Fly Super Sport section. I purchased a skein of Fly Super Sport at a local fair and the 4.5 oz/ 370 yards has been lovely to work with. I bought the colorway Hott, black and red, and the colors are vibrant. Hope you give it a try! I had not found anything close to Socks That Rock yarn until I found this!

  37. It makes me so happy to see Lucy in motion! Now…how about some spinning action??

  38. It makes me so happy to see Lucy in motion! Now…how about some spinning action??

  39. Heh, I see Lucy has discovered the joys of Da Bird.
That’s our cat’s favorite toy, and she’s a picky little kitty and isn’t interested in playing anything else except string and broomstraw. She does the same thing – grabs it and then bites partway down the feathers (trying to break its neck, I guess). We like to hide it around a corner and give her little tantalizing glimpses until she pounces on it.
