. . . my headache.

Even Little Loopy was fed up with the noise at the office today. See?

He spent the day like that.

Before you start accusing me of abusing poor Little Loopy, let me point out that he is actually much safer at the office than at home. I took him to the office when I caught Lucy looking at him with interest. She was no doubt thinking that he would make a fine kitty toy.

In non-noise-related news, I am turning the heel of the second sock.

That can mean only one thing:

There’s a new sock design looming on the horizon. And I’ve decided that this one will be a doozy.

I think the level of dooziness will make this by necessity an at-home sock project, so I’ll also start an easier commuting sock project.

Book Giveaway

The Random Number Generator has spoken. The winner of my extra copy of How to Eat Supper is Stephanie.

Thanks to everyone who offered a recipe. They will provide inspiration for me for quite a while.

My dad asked me to say: “Please send my thanks to all your readers for all the great birthday wishes in English as well as in Swedish.” πŸ™‚

Lucy sez:

Momma is such a killjoy, taking Little Loopy away from here.

  1. Hi Wendy, Just a thought, why not get Lucy her own little Loopy? Glad to hear you are working on another pattern. Congratulations to Stephanie. Hope your Dad had a wonderful day.

  2. Hugs Wendy. Hope you and Loopy have a better day tomorrow.

I cannot wait for SoS 2008 to start. I signed up so I could finally do one of your patterns.

It will help me train for next year’s sock war.

Lucy’s a doll. Give her a scritch for me.

  3. I’m sure Lucy wouldn’t hurt Little Loopy — maybe just fling him about a bit? My Daisy (the Westie) has been flinging a Ty lamb for almost 3 years now — hasn’t hurt it, but it has logged many air miles!

  4. Wendy- I think Lucy may have been calculating how long it would take to knock the stuffing out of Little Loopy.

  5. Are you sure that’s what Lucy said? Because I distinctly heard her say, “Momma, why can’t I have my own Loopy, FPS?”

  6. I love heel turning… I’m always a little sad when the heel is turned.. it’s the most exciting part of sock knitting. Thank you for sharing your heel turning!

It looks like Lucy is winking and thinking devious thoughts.

  8. Please keep Little Loopy away from that hungry-looking second sock!

  9. Timmie B says:

I just hope that you sent some more patterns to TLE because one of our fellow Flingers is accusing us of “stealing” her Costa from her cart. At my house Izzy (cat) isn’t interested in stuffed toys, she likes the spinning wheel. The dog, Debit, is another story. Loopy would die a very quick death by evisceration if she were to fall into Debit’s path. I agree with Sheri that a well-loved cat like Lucy should have her very own Little Loopy.

  10. I have a pig in the little Loopy design.

Freaked my daughter right out when she was sitting on his foot and pulled the whole foot/arm out by pulling him up………good family memories……

That at home sock looks suspiciously ribbon like? Like “for the cure” and all that?

  11. I think you were very wise to take Loopy to the office. I have a Tonk called Peri who keeps making off with the Elijah the elephant from Ysolde.

Sorry, Lucy. Loopy has left the building.

  13. Liz in IN says:

Hope your headache is but a distant memory this morning.

Oooh, intriguing new pattern. If it is ribbons, it would be colour (not motif) dependent, not just ‘for the cure’. Yellow socks, anyone?

That’s some nice knitting chart software, with cute little S1K2TPSSO symbols, and everything! I looked on the “help” page and didn’t find anything. Would you share the name of the s’ware?

Noise pollution. We *hates* it. Wish it had the press agents and celeb spokespersons that the more fashionable ‘pollutions’ do!

You have to admit, photos of Lucy & Loopy would be pretty darn cute.

  14. I hope it was easier to take Loopy into the office than it was to bring one of our dogs last year. It was a rescue puppy that got bit by a rattlesnake on our farm and his little face blew up to at least 3 times its normal size. We couldn’t stay home that day and there wasn’t much else we could do for him so we snuck him into our office building and he stayed under my desk. The story ends well- he had a full recovery.

  15. Hm…. given the intricacies of many of the socks you’ve designed, calling this one “a doozy” almost has me scared! I can’t wait to see what it looks like.

I do love neologisms. I think I said “dermatological” in a blog comment about cosmetic surgery today…
