Holiday Weekend Wrap-up

It’s been a busy weekend and hard to believe it is Sunday already.

Here’s the quickie wrap-up:

I finished the Einkorn socks:

Here’s a close-up:

To recap, these were knit from Tempted Good Grrl yarn in the “Emergency” colorway, on size 2mm and 2.25mm needles. I will write the pattern up and let you know when it is available for sale.

I realize that I’ve got a couple of patterns that I need to write up. I’ll get to them. I’ve been horrendously busy lately (you might have noticed that from the brief blog posts I’ve been making!) Hopefully things will settle down a bit and life can get back to normal.

This is the yarn for my next sock project:

Beautiful, isn’t it? This is tincture-dyed Bellamoden sock yarn in the “Nori” colorway, purchased from The Loopy Ewe. I started a sock:

I’m calling this design “Seaweed Socks” and I’ll be offering this pattern as a freebie.

In other news, I became the Plurk Overlord last night! Apparently I am the first Plurker to achieve Plurk Nirvana. I feel so enlightened!

Lucy is unimpressed. She’d rather sit under the table, hoping that chunks of chicken fall into her path.

Comments

  1. Unbelievable – I’m first to comment! Oh, I like the Seaweed socks and the color. My dog sits under the table just like Lucy looking for “manna from Heaven” as well!

  2. Plurk Overlord! 🙂 What do you call the imaginary friend of the Plurk Overlord?

  3. Gorgeous socks! I love both of the patterns. Thanks so much for sharing! I’m sure Lucy will end up with a few choice morsels for her effort.

  4. Love the new seaweed sock pattern. I also really like Bellamoden sock yarn. Got mine from Sheri, too, of course! Tell Lucy to hang in there…look pathetic and most likely chicken will come her way.

    Congrats, Plurk Overlord!

Those new socks are beautiful. But than, I think all your socks are beautiful!

    Please give Lucy some chicken…

  6. Leslieileen says:

pssst! Hey, Lucy! C’mon over! Perry P’s not feeling well and we’re tempting her with baby food chicken. It must be good because she’s eating it 🙂

ahem. Yes, Wendy? Did you say something, oh goddess of Plurk?

Oh NO! I would never tempt Lucy 😉

  7. Seaweed is a perfect name.
    Congrats on reaching Plurk nirvana.

  8. I love both the socks and that new color of yarn too. Very nice. But above it all Lucy takes the cake or the chicken, lol. My cat sat there hoping for Ham yesterday.

  9. You’re lucky Lucy waits patiently for chicken to fall into her path…when we have chicken for dinner, my Grace puts her paws up on my leg, meows charmingly, and then digs in her claws. Especially charming during the summer, when my leg is not fully protected by bluejeans! 🙂

Love the color on the Seaweed Socks!

  11. Love these Einkorn socks and also the Nanner ones posted in the past. Great designs.

  13. I really like the Nori colorway, the seaweed socks are going to look great! My dogs love to look at me with those puppy dog eyes waiting for food, but they are usually disappointed. Congratulations of achieving Plurk Nirvana!

  14. I love the new pattern! I can’t believe you can crank out those socks so fast! Just wanted to let you know I started the SOS pattern with CTH Rose Garden. It looks great. Love your blog, and hope you’re doing okay.

  15. tincture-dyed, wow. wonder how that’s done… beautiful anyway!

  16. Theresa in Italy says:

    All hail Wendy, Plurk Overlord!

Love both sock patterns, will be happy to get my grubby little paws on them whenever you have time to write them up. Love the color of the Bellamodem yarn, too.

Lucy’s begging-for-chicken method seems very demure and ladylike. I think she deserves some!

  17. Wow, the Plurk Overload. Is there a chant we need to know now, in order to address you respectfully? Do you get to wear a head dress? That would be very cool, imho.

That is a very pretty pair of socks. The color looks good enough to lick, like a dark raspberry sorbet. Very yummy. And the little stitch you used looks very sweet.

Happy after the holiday to you and Lucy.

    Warmest wishes,

  19. I have a little boy kitty who thinks the place to sit at supper time is behind my comp with his sad sad kitty eyes on me. Either that or he pretends to be asleep 🙂 Sannybug however will sit at my feet and watch me eat until apiece of whatever meat we are eating happens to come her way 🙂 Her favorite is Pork but Chicken comes in a close second.

  22. Great job on the socks!

  23. Love the seaweed socks, and thanks for offering them as a freebe.

Lucy is doing her best to look “put-upon”. New cat toys required, please.

  27. All hail Wendy, overlord of Plurk and patron goddess of knitting!! My little girl LingLing will sit as close to me as she can get and then gaze at me with imploring, pitiful eyes until I finally give in and share a morsel or three with her. And the Einkorn socks are lovely!
